Ok if it was true, why would Kelly have agreed to stay on, why would Newell have signed a new deal and why would we be considering taking on a new manager when the club has gone on its best run for a couple of years!?!

I think its shite and I would be gutted if it true.

Let's face it, the Newell and Cotterill situation proved pretty much that neither newspapers, or those on this forum who are in the know, know the full story until it reaches its conclusion.

Perhaps bearing in mind the rumours regarding Kelly offering not to take the squad to Ipswich, was perhaps correct, and that the story has been leaked by the club to put Kelly back in his place, or and this is the worst case, that Kelly has indeed been offered a contract as reported this week and has turned it down, maybe a protest against what is going on behind the scenes.

A conspiracy theory I know but for 3 newspapers to carry the story there is more to it than lazy journalism.

Just my opinion, but I think the RK/Ipswich rumour was a load of old tosh, and I think Webbo has alluded to the fact that the potentially libellous bit in Bruin's first post was the RK/Ipswich para. With regard to the offering of a contract, I would have thought that would/may happen when we know for sure what division we are in next season.

You could be right about the RK / Ipswich thing, but I am fairly sure it was reported on local radio that Kelly had been offered a long term deal.

We aren't in a Position to offer him or anyone else anything until we are Safe from Relegation and know for sure which League we will be playing in next Season

I get the impression RK is in it for the long haul. If we carry on as we have been since he took over, it would be a brave man who changes it for next season. RK has managed to get these players to gel in less time than it took Levein, and you'd think that things could only get better. a new manager would want his own men in, not just on the coaching side, and does the squad need more uncertainty and destabilisation?

I think that the story is purely because both sides are playing each other, and it's an easy story.

It is being reported on the BBC Gossip Column that Mr Newell is threatening to quit Luton unless he recieves transfer funds.

I wonder if Mike could just be using the media to put pressure on the Luton board and also to give the Leicester board a nudge that he could still be available.

Maybe part of the reason it wasnt pursued after two interviews could have been MN's relunctance to walk out on Luton, and therefore reduce the compensation payout, perhaps now he is prepared to walk. It had been reported via a number of sources that Leicester had wanted their new manager to quit his post, something that a number of the shortlist appeared to reluctant to do.

sod Newell - he had his chance. Offer it full time to Kelly in the summer.

He had his chance!!!

RK is THE man!!!! He rightfully deserves the job. Besides Newell looks like a shaven monkey tosser!

Not singing anymore monkeyboy!:098:

No, at the time I thought he would have been a good appointment, and probably still could be...but he had his chance, and now I think RK should rightfully get the job.

Totally agree, all of a sudden the Leicester job looks a fairly attractive proposition and it appears managers are now backtracking, but these managers who werent prepared to put their balls on the line can fcuk off IMO.

RK was brave and as Del Boy says ' He who dares Wins'. RK has done a sensational job and deserves the opportunity to lead this side for next season and beyond.
