74 yards = 64 metres. This is twice the length of my garden.

I would NEVER sit right down at the bottom of my garden for a meal while my children are in bed, let alone twice the length.

Maybe that's just me being over protective, but 64 metres away from a hotel room/apartment is just down right bloody stupid.
where do you draw the line as regards where you should be in relation to your children to be in control of them :102:
you can be sat out side the back door and they can go missing.

You can be in bed in the same house and they could be abducted but as a parent you will do anything in your power to prevent it leaving a child unattended on the other side of an apartment block weather it be 70 yards or 200 yards imo is unacceptable

im not going down any line.just asking how far do you go to look after your kids to not feel any guilt if something happens to them when your not around.

FFS. Mrs McCann is a scouser. If she was back in Liverpool, Madeleine would have been out earning money doing the 'watch your car for a quid' thing once she was four. At 3, she'd have just been out till all hours, smoking and drinking. Actually having a rough idea of where she was counts as responsible parenting.

Ask the McCanns where the line is drawn, they went passed it on their way to the restaurant.

so you blame them, no ifs and buts.
I don't blame them, no. I am a parent and I'm far from perfect it at, I have never met the perfect parent.

I have done some bloody stupid things and have gotten away with it, as we all have, this couple weren't so lucky.

No, I wouldn't have done what they did, but they wouldn't do some of the things I do. As far as I'm aware they may be the best parents in the world, but this time they ****ed up, we all do it, but at what cost.

The blame is with whoever has her, or killed her.

a brave statement, but basically this is what i am saying.

portugal police are now saying they have found a full dna match in the rental car and an arrest might be imminent.
something is not right here, its becoming a right whodunnit :102:

Exactly my sentiments too.

Not really, I've turned the cooker on while holding my baby, I've left my dog alone with one of them while I get up to do something, I've left a knife on the kitchen work surface, I've let them play on their swing unsupervised for a few seconds, I've had to chase on of them as they've opened the kitchen cupboards, I've let go of one of my Daughter's hands while in the City centre.

All of the above situations have ended in disaster for other parents, for me I've always got away with it.

I know for a fact I'm not the only one, I know for a fact every parent does these things. Anybody who says otherwise is a liar or a ****.

I've no need to say anymore you've just summed it up for me.
