I've heard from a reliable source that the deal is all but dead. MM has tied himself in knots over these Pompey shares and nobody seriously thinks the deal can be done anymore.

Those at the top don't think that. They think it will be completed before the end of Jan. They also said that it was never going to go through on Thursday, that was just media speculation.
