Rab is a good example of reputations, I have not been that impressed with him at all because I expect alot more from a player that has been an international and played in alot of 'big' games.
If Henderson was given a go I would probably expect him to be playing about the same as Rab, but IMO I do not think he would get as much stick if he made a mistake because he isn't a 'name' player.

How many mistakes has Rab made? The only ones i can remember are the pens against Sheff U and Stoke! and to be fair each time the player is clean through and its a one on one! :102:

I didnt say it was ok but suggested i can understand their frustration! :icon_roll

I have never booed a player but frequently shout at them to get stuck in which imo can only encourage somebody!

With more backing from the fans for all of our players we would be higher up the table IMO. Not promotion candidates but stable none the less.

I do not believe this is the case with all teams either, I think that the better teams over time are successfull to some degree because they have more supportive fans.

Agree 100%

Willow, I wasn't having a go at Rab, just pointing out that personally I feel the player we have is not as good as the reputation that proceeded him. If it was Henderson that had been playing in goal and doing exactly the same as Rab is doing then IMO he would not be getting as much stick. Does that make sense?

Totally agree and all this crap about you go to watch to be entertained is a load of crap! If you wanted to see a good footy match you would go to chelsea or Man ure

I understand that a lack of passion from players can annoy fans but surely getting behind the team and urging them on is better then booing?

To be fair Rabs reputation was not the best and any celtic fan will tell you that! i can understand what you are saying but if it was the other way round city fans would be shouting at CL because he is keeping rab on the bench! Its just someone to blame!

I think blaming the fans is quite probably the biggest kop out I have ever heard.

Surely playing infront of 20,000 cheering fans will make a team play better then 20,000 booing fans?

Don't think they are all that bad Will but we do have and always have had more than our share of 'fans' who give the impression that are only happy when they have something to moan about or some poor fecker to chastise (and this is my last say on this matter:icon_roll )

May be - but at this stage of the proceedings I think the fans have a major role to play in the effort to keep us up. Continuing with the booing and barracking will almost certainly seal our relegation; supporting the team as a team should be supported may get us the points we need.

Nothing to do with L1 then?

I don't think it's just us that have a lot of boneheads.

I was on a Man U website last night, and there were loads of their fans moaning about Darren Fletcher, alling him the worst player ever to play for them, saying he couldn't tackle, couldn't pass, and the only reason he gets into the team because he's Scottish :icon_roll
I felt quite at home there. Until I remembered what team it was for.

I agree we need to get behind the team in what will clearly be one of the toughest times this club has ever seen. However to say the fans are even partly responsible for the situation we find ourselves in is ridiculous IMO.

If you agree that the fans can affect the future performance of the club, the corollary must be that they have some responsibility for the present situation - if only in small part.

If indeed they had shown poor support, which I dont believe they have. With the possible exception of the last home game.
