More Loan Signings?

After seeing the Plymouth game today what we need is a left-winger. Did anyone else see the game? Andy Welsh is absolutely awful. His running with the ball ability is limited, his passing ability was shocking and frightfully poor, and his crossing was far below the standard of Sylla's. He is a complete waste of space with no ability to be playing in this division. We desperately need a left winger right now.

We desperately need to strengthen the squad, as it appears that the injury crisis is now affecting results and our options are becoming more and more limited.

However I would hope that RK can bring in players that will add a new dimension and create additional competition for places, it is key that Kelly does not sign 'squad players' just to make up the numbers.

I think we need at least one if not two central midfielders and target man to compliment Hume and Fryatt and to provide additional competition and options.

My signings if possible would be and obviously based on additional investment :

Huddlestone (Spurs) - Quality holding midfielder who would benefit from a run of first team football, also has experience at this level.

Murphy (Spurs) - Hardly gets a look in, would be a great signing at this level and would IMO bag a few goals from midfield.

Akinbiyi (Sheff Utd) - Despite his past, he is proven at this level and IMO would be a great addition. (Puts on Tin Hat ) :icon_lol:

Thing is though we should be looking for players that would be good enough to play in the Premier if by some miracle we got there.Akinbiyi is not and will not ever be good enough to do that IMO.,yes he's good enough at this level but it seeems pointless buying him to get us out this League only then to have to replace him.

If and when MM buys the club he won't immediatly throw 8 million at the transfer kitty, so we can forget the 3 PFKAKTF FOX mentioned as we couldn't afford their wages let alone an actual transfer fee. I'm sure there is plenty of talent around, we just need to be a bit more savvy in the transfer market. MON was very good at this and we need a bit of that magic (think Muzzy, Lennon, Guppy etc).
What we need to do though is not give second class players 3 year contracts because if they are poor it makes it very difficult to ship them out. You can tell quite quickly if a player has the necessary talent/potential/interest!!!), so lets not persist in playing people who aren't up to it (Low, Johnson, Hughes etc) and accept that we need to look elsewhere.

We need to ship out at least 5 and maybe bring at least 7 in. But none of these will be big hitters. On an aside i reckon Levein and Kelly have already made LCFC good money on rough diamonds as i think Hume, Fryatt, Kisnorbo and Paddy Mac, Stearman will all gone on to command decent transfer fee's. Notice i didn't mention a single midfielder there - there in is the problem.

I genuinely don't think strikers are the problem, between Hume, Fryatt, Hammond and OGrady i think there are plenty of goals. The problem is these lot do not get consistent quality service. Of course they will miss the odd one a game, but the if they are only being given one chance a game then their fighting a losing battle. Lets focus on getting some kind of midfield in place and then i'm sure the Fryatt/Hume partnership will blossom again.

Why have we not got a chance? Whittingham has been to a couple of Championship clubs on loan in the past, Djemba has made it clear he wants first team football.

We can't afford to sign Commons, Forest would want a fair amount of money for him - money that we have not got.

Great shout - the likes of Murphy and Huddlestone wouldn't come here unless Spurs paid for them to!!! Can't see many 1st Division clubs lending out their best players mind.....
