Speculation Motown's hysterical and annoying, but traditional, totally unfounded Summer 2016 rumours thread

Hopefully not a replacement for Mahrez. You'd imagine he'll get some strong time out in the cups and sub appearances though. We can't really afford to let anyone go until we have new people in. that goes for defence and attack. We could probably afford to lose Inler and Lawrence, but nothing more than that really.
Would ideally bring in Keane and Kapustka. Not fussed about Brady, but would take him. A more mobile version of Ulloa would be good also......

Far be it from me to add a little controversy, but I wonder whether we should make a move to recruit Balotelli.

Ranieri is a long standing fan and has tried to sign him several times (at least for Inter 2011, Monaco 2013, City 2015). He spoke to him last summer about coming here on loan (I believe that he came to our training ground for talks) but he opted to join Milan instead.

Ranieri quotes:

"I would welcome Balotelli with open arms. He is a formidable talent". (Nov 2011)

"Football is a game of fun and I don’t think he’s having any. I feel for Mario, he has qualities which have yet to be witnessed but it depends on him to show them. I hope he gets the opportunity and shows what he can really do, because it’s a necessity and at 25-years-old, it’s no longer about having plenty of promise, he needs to show what he can do.” (Aug 2015)

He's clearly not going to stay at Liverpool and we need another option to Vardy. His pace and style would suit us and he's a marvellous talent when his head is right. Maybe our culture and the fatherly support of Ranieri would be successful combination. Maybe it would be a waste of everybody's time.

It really wouldn't be a major gamble for us though (no individual could ruin their spirit) so I wonder if it could be worth a punt. Is he really at the stage where he can find employment only in China or Turkey?

He unfortunately (and perhaps incorrectly) comes across as lazy, arrogant and a total prick.

Not in a million years, thank you.

He's quite like Collymore in terms of talent verses trouble. Under the right manager and with the right team mates, he could be imperious and an outstanding addition. It's a question of whether you have belief in our group and structure (which I do). The only unknown is his own state of mind and interest in the game. If he's no longer interested or capable of performing, so be it.

Collymore had hit hight Mario never will before he joined us.

I wouldn't be against it if we did sign him, purely on the promise that I absolutely trust in Claudio with people like this.

I think Balotelli would be a terrible signing.
I like the fact we are building the next gen and back up to the league winning side around zeiler, amartey, hopefully keane, chilwell, mendy, gray and by all reports, kapustka. All under 25 and most under 23. Infinitely preferable to renta celeb footballers like Balotelli.
Would be great if a player like Hamza Choudry could break through or if Moore can resurrect his career so that we can see Chilwell, Moore, King, Schlupp, Choudry being a homegrown 20% of the core 23. All of mt favourite english sides of the past 25 yrs have been able to boast that.

Lousy attitude and not very good.

Yep, fully endorse all of that Sparky.

There is nothing more exciting than "one of your own" playing brilliantly for the club he has played for (and probably supported) since God was a boy.

Few years ago, maybe yes, worth a punt

Sadly now he's a completely busted flush

Avoid at all cost

He had? Like scoring in a World Cup and Euro Championship.

The common line with Balotli is that he amazing potential but comes with so much baggage. I just don't see that much potential in him and I think the antics mask the fact that he could/will never be a true top-quality player. So I would pass on signing him.

Quick trawl around Facebook and I found that Kapustka has supposedly confirmed to Polish media that he's coming to Leicester in a 'new chapter' of his career...

Fantastic news.
