Speculation Motown's hysterical and annoying, but traditional, totally unfounded Summer 2017 rumours thread

Anicet Abel, 27 yo midfielder, apparently Shakey has phoned him personally to try and convince him to come to us !!!

It seems odd to me that managers wouldn't have a call with their potential new signing anyway... didn't Pearson always have a reputation for doing this and winning players over? I'm sure Guardiola would talk to possible incoming transfers before they actually signed as well.

"100PercentChelsea believes that Vardy’s last match for Leicester could be this weekend away at Man United.

He’s told his followers that Chelsea are sending one of the club’s most trusted scouts, Guy Hillion, to Leicester today to finalise the Vardy deal.

Not only that, but Leicester could land Batshuayi as part of the deal.

Batshuayi, who scored an own goal last weekend against Tottenham, is said to be leaning towards a permanent move from Stamford Bridge rather than a loan deal.''

This could turn into a nightmare of a window for us.

Tell them to **** off regardless of fee

Would seem very sensible to finalise the deal today but still play him on Saturday. Is he being loaned straight back to us or something?

Don't think I'd even accept £50m plus Batshuayi for Vardy.

Certainly not this close to the end of the window anyway!

Vardy is the heart and spirit of our team and sets the tone for the rest a great deal of the time. To lose him would be a disaster, especially late in the window.

We lose Vardy, we have to rebuild and look at an entirely different set-up etc

I don't mind this bit, however you don't do it during a season.

We would (tempting fate?!) still have Slimani. How quickly could we reshape around him?

Ok, maybe not an ideal scenario but not the end of the world either.

That was my point really. We can't adapt to that unplanned at this stage.

If it had been in June then we have pre-season to sign accordingly and reshape, but our tactics are completely built around playing to Vardy's strengths.

Unfortunately putting all of our eggs in the one, Vardy shaped, basket will be our undoing.
