I really can't see how anyone has enough evidence to judge Mendy. Even in the games he did play he was either half fit or clearly hadn't had time to integrate into either the team or English football. His injury record is a concern, sure, but I certainly don't think anyone has seen enough of him to write him off as a PL player.

Other than Claudio from managing him previously and who clearly thought he was worth chasing for two summers.

If he moves on then so be it, but I've no idea if he's any good.

Agree there like. I'm not expecting anything from him given his injuries, he's in the same boat as James.

I wouldn't write off Amartey either. A good number of people here thought he was one of the positives before he went off to AFCoN.

You can't write off a player after a handful of games, particularly someone who's trying to adjust to a new country and style of play.

So you haven't written off Musa either then?

You can just tell by gut instinct which players will adapt - I'll eat my hat if either Mendy or Musa become above average Premier League players.

It was all relative.

Not yet.

Did you write off Vardy after his first season?

No - there were glimpses in his first season that showed promise.

Pearson and Shakespeare could clearly see something in him which is why they persuaded him to stay. I imagine Shakey is trying to shift Musa and Mendy to the highest bidders.

Adapting and fitting in can take a year or more, and fans are often not that patient.

I am much happier with us pursuing the likes of Siggurdson or Iheanacho who are already well adapted to the EPL.

People forget that some of these players were struggling to 'adapt' whilst playing alongside players who were complete and utter shit for 25 games.

Despite this they were never given chance to play week in week out as we kept choosing the same old duffers who were more concerned about losing fried chicken and wedges off the menu than playing football.

I'm willing to give certain new players more time. Some of the old guard however can do what they want for all I care.

Just been looking at the odds on players moving where this summer: https://www.skybet.com/football/tra...293022?aff_id=11942&dcmp=ss_betlink_PBtabPREM

I know they're based upon gossip and supposition but there are some interesting things here. Like, for example, we're third favourites to sign Arnautovic this summer. I seem to recall that we were linked with him not too long ago and if we lost Mahrez, he could be an option.

Mahrez looks like if he doesn't go to Arsenal, he's most likely to go nowhere. If they sign Lemar, surely that means (bar a late move from someone desperate) he'll stay put.

That will add to Gray's petulance no doubt. Everton appear to be his most likely destination should we move him on. I think I'm right in saying that the contractual agreement between Everton and Leicester where they cannot sign any of our players expires next week. So who knows.

It looks like Gibson is likely to end up at WBA which may lead to Evans being able to come here.

Sigurdsson appears to be a done deal to Everton too.

Musa had his moments this season gone. More often than not though he was stuck out on the wing looking absolutely clueless, similar to Vardy when asked to do the same. Still believe he was meant to be Vardy's replacement as we didn't expect him to say non to Arse.

I think to introduce five new players will be too much, especially as most of last years signings were not really given a chance.

Give the existing squad a chance. I think its good enough, including Okazaki, Armartey, Mende, Slimani, Simpson, Chillwell, Gray, Musa ( cant be bothered to check their spelling and may have missed someone).

However we do need a bit of a clear out to release funds and places for new targets which I think would be better in January or next July.

I accept that some players due to their age and fitness are perhaps not now up to premier league level.

We need a management with a short, medium and dare I say it a long term strategy, and with an angle on team dynamics.

Ok , let's look for another CB that will fit in to our new squad for next season and a RB if we think its necessary, or any other position that is found to be wanting.

Concentrating effort and resources on specific positions throughout the coming season should enable us to checkout and target players who we could hopefully attract to the club at an appropriate time, and prepare for the sale of those that are deemed to be replaced.

Improve the squad by buying one or two quality players in the future.

We still have **** all genuine creativity in the middle of the park.

Despite the business done so far it looks like we have a lot of backwards and sideways passing to look forward to before someone then twats the ball aimlessly for miracle man Vardy to try and make do with.

That and watching Albrighton wind his leg up and Mahrez have a face like an even bigger smacked arse.

Yes I have had a bit of a shit weekend

But shouldn't that be the no.10. We need our 2 central midfielders to be able to cover our defence. If it isn't the no.10 in our setup and our 2 wingers are not doing it for you then a change of formation is required. I think Ndidi and Drinky are very good players and needed in our team. There are 3 other players that should be creating, if they are not why are they there?

Surely Sigurdsson to Everton is less likely to happen now that Rooney has returned?

I'd imagine they see Rooney as a no.10 and not a striker. Unless they plan to play Rooney deeper in midfield.

With Claasen, Barkley and Rooney now at Everton (all arguably no10s) id be surprised to see Sigurdsson go there.
If I were him I'd be Saints or Leicester bound as they each need a no 10 to play in the hole behind a lone striker.
I hope it's us.
