Sunderland have confirmed that Patrick van Aanholt was withdrawn from the team to face Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday because of the results of tests on his heart. The results of the tests apparently had been submitted to an FA panel who informed the club only 35 minutes before kick-off that the player should be left out. He will be travelling to London for the League Cup game against QPR tomorrow night but still awaits a decision on his fitness to play.

Fair play to the FA. After incidents like Clive Clarke and others, it's good to see they're proactively monitoring against it happening to other players. Although it does seem odd that PL doctors don't pick it up.

Chris Wood scored the only goal of the game as Leeds beat Blackburn yesterday

Adam Smith makes a bad error to gift Radford a goal.

Have to give Brown Nose credit for calling this (against the renown expertise of me amongst others). We haven't seen the last of it and maybe Chelsea will eventually turn out good but Kanté has been a complete waste there so far.

I hear they want to part-exchange him for Matty James.
