Puel on player power rumours

Puel has made the same mistakes at successive clubs and yet portrays himself as a great manager and the clubs and players and fans as incapable of appreciating his genius.

"The concept of construction does not exist there" he says. What absolute bollocks. We've been constructing a club for years. You were the one that decided that many of the component parts were not fit for purpose despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

no theo owners decided that, they wanted to go younger with a more attractive style, that's why he was hired and and a manager with a similar tactical style replaced him.

Oh and yes there was a rebuild to be done, the moment Kante signed for Chelsea that team and style was done

Are you Puel?

So Manchester City are in desperate need for a goal with 10 minutes left in their CL QF and they bring on Sane rather than Mahrez. That tells you all you need to know about how much they value him there.

Tbh, if we could sign one of Sane or Mahrez I’d pick Sane too, the surprise would have been him not starting

16th May will be the 20th anniversary of the last Florist Premier League match. Against us as it happens.

Unless we draw them in the League Cup next season, we'll also hit the longest period between City / Florist matches since the 1930s. They're becoming a club like Preston that were good in a former era.

I mentioned earlier in the season that we've now played more Premier League games than Florist and Derby combined. Doesn't look like either of them will be challenging us any time soon either.

MON is sadly a shadow of his former self. The quality and the passion isn't there any more. I think he suits the club he manages perfectly.

I was at that game. Their fans were singing “Martin’s coming home” and we were responding with “Martin thinks you’re shit” etc etc. Maybe we were both right.

Puel's inability to recognise the context in which he operated is almost as astounding as his inability to accept any blame. It's breathtaking arrogance.

That the EPL is a results driven business is obvious. Clubs simply cannot afford to be relegated whilst they rebuild. And Puel is naive if he thinks the French leagues are any different, they are simply less competitive and so there's more time and lenience (if I can put it like that)

Odd as it might sound (following what I've just said), I wasn't fervently anti-Puel. I was prepared to give him time. Now, after reading that article, I think best rid of him. The nostril flaring aloofness of the man has pissed me right off (As it sadly conforms to attitudes I've experienced in my time living in France, and I'd never for a moment thought Puel might be like that)

It's like both sets of fans knew intuitively that whether at the bottom, top or somewhere in the middle of its trajectory, a yo-yo is still very much a yo-yo.
