I'm 2 days younger than Rob Kelly.

I once went on a school trip to Filbert St. The old boy showing us around introduced us to a young blonde lad who was strolling by the tunnel. He told us he was one of the youth team & maybe we'd all be cheering him in a couple of years.

My 16 year old self looked at the 16 year old Rob Kelly & thought "I'd ****ing kill to be you"

Almost 40 years later, I still probably would. I'd swap picking a team for Barrow next week for pretty much any of the shit I've got lined up.

They have a smashing bunch of lads who don't live anywhere near Barrow. Their training ground is 100+ miles from their home ground. They found it difficult to sign players because no one wanted to live there, so they only go to the town on matchday.

I wondered if that was some of the thinking with the hotel at our new training ground. Give them a luxury hotel to stay at while still letting people live primarily in London/Manchester areas?
