The rumour is a load of bollocks, but if Southampton are looking to spend money on a striker I expect they'll be looking at players with better records than DJ, who has scored 9 goals in 30 games in League One.

I thought it was only a rolling contract, so I think it can be cancelled without that much notice and with little if any compensation, not sure though.

Both correct according to the BBC website. Shocking way to treat him considering when he signed the new contract he turned down another job to stick with them.
