Champions League Final is at Wembley on the Saturday Bank Holiday.

UEFA ask for the stadium to be under their control at least 5 days before the fixture.

The FA double booked it without any consideration.
Now I imagine that's not true, Hazz.

I bet they looked at their calendar, saw the play off finals and genuinely considered it for 0.37 seconds before burping "ah, **** 'em, these little teams can bollocks", booking the Big Cup Final and heading straight out for a celebratory slap up binge at Mrs. Miggin's Pie Shoppe.

Or something like that, anyway. :icon_bigg

Re: Championship Taking Shape

Bloody difficult league!!!!!!! We'll do well to finish mid table.

No. It is the premiership that is a bloody difficult league.

Last year we almost stayed up despite having a rubbish set of players that never became a team.

The team that won League One had better players than the team that went down. Does anyone think that De Vries or Carl Cort or those Hungarian wingers would have got into Nigel's team? Does anyone think that Steve Walsh would have been conned into recommending Nigel sign Hellings or Jonathan Hayes?
I believe the team that won League One would have been mid-table. Not only are they better than the players that got us relegated they played as a team which is something Martin Allen's squad never did.

Now think of the advantages this season. We can sign better players simply by being in the Championship. We will never know what players did not join us last season because they would not play in League One.

Last season Nigel and his staff had to start signing players immediately. Since then Steve Walsh has had a season to look and look again at various players. No Martin Allen nonsense about signing players on the word of an agent these days.

The pre-season is going to be a key time. Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal arfe likely to want young players for the pre-season before loaning them out. Before anyone says we are dreaming about those clubs think of Cleverley, Gilbert and Hobbs.

There is a final thought. many of the bigger clubs start the season as losers - relegated from the Premiership or having lost in the playoffs.Leicester start the season with skyhigh morale.

I shall be disappointed if we do not reach the playoffs and more importantly I think Milan will be also. I would add one word of caution. If things go wrong as they can for even good managers I hope there will be no knee-jerk criticism of Nigel Pearson. We have changed managers too often in the last five years. Nigel has had success last season. If things go wrong this season I hope he will get the backing of the fans and of Milan.

Not much chance of that imo.

Fickle supporters and a nervous trigger happy chairman. There is no sentiment or loyalty in football, if we have a season like Forest have just had, then i'd fully expect Pearson wont see the season out.
Not what i want, but just the way it is:icon_conf

Re: Championship Taking Shape

Lets hope he's not taking Gender studies at uni

I think people who end up taking any kind of "studies" - gender studies, business studies, media studies - become Millwall supporters. Leicester fans have usually studied physics, history, law, geology, medicine and other difficult subjects. I am told Brighton fans include quite a number who have studied ladies hair dressing.

Re: Championship Taking Shape

That's understandable though. He probably thinks your name is pronounced See-oux-sigh, and everyone knows that's a bloke's name.

Here's where I see our points coming from next year:

Code:
                  [B]Home Away[/B]
[B]Newcastle 3 1[/B]
[B]West Brom 1 0[/B]
[B]Middlesboro 3 1[/B]
[B]QPR 3 3[/B]
[B]Ipswich 1 0[/B]
[B]Sheff Utd 1 0[/B]
[B]Cardiff 3 1[/B]
[B]Reading 1 1[/B]
[B]Preston 3 0[/B]
[B]Derby 3 3[/B]
[B]Coventry 3 3[/B]
[B]Nottm Forest 3 3[/B]
[B]Swansea 1 0[/B]
[B]Crystal Palace 3 1[/B]
[B]Watford 1 1[/B]
[B]Bristol City 3 0[/B]
[B]Peterbough 3 0[/B]
[B]Sheff Wed 1 1[/B]
[B]Blackpool 3 1[/B]
[B]Doncaster 3 1[/B]
[B]Barnsley 3 3[/B]
[B]Plymouth 3 1[/B]
[B]Scunthorpe 3 3[/B]

That gives us a total of 83 points which, in the season just gone, would see us promoted.

So we won't lose at home during the whole season? I think you've got a bit carried away, Joe.

Whilst 18 out if 18 points against Derby, Coventry and Forest is completely realistic. :)

Jeez Macky, that's ridiculous - it would see us promoted automatically.

I think were gonna use our joker against Blackpool and we get an extra 50pts for the home win against them. So that makes it 185 points

There seems to be an abundance of jokers on here, doesn't there? Cue: Double tumbleweed:

That all depends on how many points everybody else gets, even if we win all our games we might only just scrape into the play-offs.
It's gonna be a tough season
