Perfect fit I suppose

Listen to Schwarzer (a friend of Pearson) this week say how different so many players feel this season compared to last. How close Drinkwater was to leaving when Pearson was here and how much the mood of the squad has changed.

BN, where can I find this?

Some Derby fans think he may be going there. Would make sense in a lot of ways, not least because Kevin Phillips is there as AM.

Almost seems a certainty imo.

They are desperate to get out of this league so I'd imagine they'd been in discussions with him for a while and pretty much agreed for them to get rid of Clement.

I read this yesterday.

Someone at Derby has gone crazy. Attractive football first, then promotion. Yet attractive football doesn't guarantee anything. So....? Idiots.

What the feck is the Derby way? Guessing something involving sheep?

They're not desperate at all, they just want to build the team "the Derby way". Promotion this season wasn't the aim. Darren Wassall appointed until the end of the season, so no new job for Nige.

OK they've just lost the plot then.

I always thought that Derby had pretty good owners/people running the club but it seems not.

The Derby way they are referring too seems like it is paying great homage to the amazing Wolves teams of the 90s that would run away with the league until Christmas and then fail miserably afterwards.

Keep it up Derby as you are emulating them fantastically.

Aitor Karanka: Middlesbrough head coach considering future at Riverside

Aitor Karanka played for Athletic Bilbao and Real Madrid
Middlesbrough head coach Aitor Karanka is considering his future at the club.

The 42-year-old Spaniard, who took charge at the Riverside in November 2013, left Boro's training ground unexpectedly on Friday after a row.

Boro, who travel to Charlton on Sunday, are second in the Championship, four points behind leaders Burnley with a game in hand.

The club confirmed Karanka did not take training on Saturday and assistant Steve Agnew takes charge at Charlton.

"We appreciate supporters will want to know further details, but at this time the club cannot make any further comment and is solely focused on Sunday's game at The Valley," the club statement added.

Middlesbrough led the table by six points on 12 January, but they have won just three of their past 10 games.

I would have thought with NP's connection to the club he would be nailed on for this. However, I also wonder if NP is technically on 'gardening leave' and still under the pay of the club. If that were the case, I wonder if he's in line for a mega bonus based on our current performance and may therefore be too expensive for anyone to appoint.

I imagine that he could get Chris Powell and Kevin Phillips given their current situations.
