I thought Momo had a good game on saturday, was certainly as good as Williams, Smith, Dublin, Maybury and Hammond.

O.K his work rate in tracking back isn't great but he held and ran with the ball well and put some decent crosses in.

well fair play to you bobby thats what makes this game great its all about opinions

Maybe it's a thing about right w(h)ingers - Gillespie had the same defects as Sylla, but was an even worse player. Wise, Gillespie and Dublin are the three players I've booed while wearing a City shirt for a visible and absolute lack of interest. Dublin has improved since but the memory of that performance (I can't remember the game! One of our dire home displays early last season) continues to make me suspicious of him. Problem with Sylla is there is no-one pushing him for his place, unless Elvis is tried there.

Smith can play on either side so I would try him and Hume out wide and then stick Elvis up top or a new striker with MDV. I think if Elvis and Humey both get a decent run in the side and with decent service they will get goals, at the minute Sylla just doesnt seem to give a sh1t, and I would rather see a player with half the skill but twice the desire wear the blue shirt.

I would rather see 11 Paddy McCarthy's diving into tackles than 11 Momo Sylla's who will occasionally produce a moment of magic. Most of the criticism is levelled for lack of effort not talent.

As was mentioned earlier its about balance, There is a long list of Successful, lazy players including Figo and Nedved. Both are or have been considered world class. but they are the sort of players that only can do 2 or 3 amazing things in a match and be unheard the rest of the game. but those couple of things make a difference.

I'm not saying Momo and Willams are in that class, but there are two common mentalities in football

1) if you do it right you only need to do it once

2)If you try it enough times your bound to get it right once

Most of the players considered to be among the greatest have number 1.

Only very few will actually be brilliant and work hard, Ronaldinho is the only one i can think of at the moment, maybe Rooney.

im not expecting brilliance at this level it is the championship, or even a captain marvel herculean effort. just look like your half interested and try and put the odd tackle in..... momo is a lazy bastard and im not going to overlook that because he might be another figo

Maybe if we had a striker who could convert more of his crosses, Momo would be a hero?

dont know about that he would probably find somehting else to mope about :icon_bigg

Celtic had Larrson when Sylla was there,he was still bone idle there and hardly got a game in the last 2 seasons he was there.

Good point that highlander.

Dont get to see them much these days, living 170 miles away, but certainly at PNE Momo put the effort in, wasnt great going forward but i think he was under orders that day to concentrate on tracking back, whih he did. He looked ok to me. May change judgement following Burnley/Bolton games!

IMO the problem with Sylla is similar to Williams, they are both technically gifted players, who on their day can be excellent, but because of their style of play and demeanour when it isnt going so well, they look like they cannot be arsed.

They are luxury players, and in our position we cannot afford that especially when they line up in the side together, we need players prepared to give 110% effort and commitment. The championship is about firstly winning the physical battle and then imposing your ability onto your opponents, with these two playing in the same line up, it means a 4 man midfield and it is not strong enough to compete, it makes us too lightweight.

bang on if you ignore williams pissing off home during a game and how that sums up that he just doesnt give a shit....performances look lacklustre but doing that just proves his opinion of our club
