I don't see how that's a contradiction.

If we win the gap could be down to two, but even if all the results go our way yet again, I don't think we'll get into the play offs now. However, if we do manage to beat Forest, I'm sure a lot of our fans will start believing again but I for one think the promotion dream realistically ended after losing to Pompey at home, so I won't be getting worked up.
