What is wrong with these highly overpaid professional athletes being responsible for their own fitness? Can't they drag themselves away from their X-box and casino for a few hours so they are able to run around for 90 mins?

From what other people have said, the Swansea players were banned by Sousa from doing any extra training.

Well said bigmattp, couldn't agree more. Give Sousa and his signings time, as for the lads we currently have Hobbs, et all don't turn into bad players over the summer. Sure Sousa is trying to play a new system, and maybe this is showing the limitations of some of the players at the club, again time is the key, lets wait and see, before we start hitting the panic buttons.

Your point on Campbell confuses me. If the only option was to loan him out why did Sousa announce him as our key player for the season and play him??

To force the donkey botherers to up their bid? When they knew he was not being used by Pearson they came in with a really low bid and tried their luck. I feel if NP was here he would have gone and for a really low amount.
PS comes in and says DJ is in his plans, forcing Blackpool to show a higher bid in their attempt to sign him. Seems it worked.

Sousa is still a **** in my eyes though and seems lost in this job, but only time will tell (if he is given it)

Only Pearson didn't let him go (free or otherwise) the first, second or third time Blackpool asked.

We typically need to crucify any new manager because obviously after a whole 4 league games he is the devil himself, right?

MON couldn't buy a win for (i think) 10 games, and the meat heads booed him.

Feck me, Sousa is trying to change our style of play and with this he may upset the apple cart - who f*****g cares? If he get's results after say 15 games and we start to climb then great, if not then judge him after the same amount, not after a handful in which we were at least a tad unlucky in a couple of those games.

NP's games were stagnent but efficient, it wasn't exactly awe inspiring to watch or have we all forgotten this.

You couldn't make it up!

Well said.

Pleased that we have managed to keep hold of the likes of Gallagher and Wellens, hopefully with the additions of Waghorn and Abe we can get back to winning games and move on up that table.

pro athletes do not lose physical fitness that quickly, their bodies are too conditioned. they may lose match sharpness, but the ability to run around for 90+ minutes takes longer. My sister used to run for leicester and despite not training or using a gym for the latst 5/6 years she is still physically fitter than most people and her metabolic rate is still higher.

Agree with most of that (as usual) but I doubt if Sousa has had much to do with the above apart from as you say amplifying the party line on DJ being wanted at Leicester in order to lever a bigger bid from a sensibly tight fisted Blackpool.

NP may have seen himself as a traditional English style football "manager"; Sousa is more likely to see himself in the "head coach" role with 'the expertise' of Hoos handling the money matters on behalf of the board.

Like you I don't like the cut of Sousa's gib but that doesn't means he's either to blame or takes credit for everything that happens at the football club.

I remember how awful we were last season at home to Ipswich. I agree, we have to give Sousa time. It might be a rocky ride for the next few weeks.

How do you explain it then?

You must be joking!

Yeah post-career...when you're competing against fellow athletes, there's a difference surely?

NP's games were stagnent but efficient, it wasn't exactly awe inspiring to watch or have we all forgotten this.

As much as like a good game of football to watch, I wouldn't call scoring five for the first time at the Walkers efficient or stagnent, or the revenge win over Forest or the finest away performance in donkey's at Loftus Road. The first choice 11 we fielded during April was a finely balanced side ready to the next step up. Pearson didn't play long ball, he played a percentage-based game which involved when in doubt loft it away from danger.

Let's be honest Wellens is a stupid twat and by all accounts Sousa is an arrogant twat ..'never the twat shall meet'.

I expect Sousa's first day was a little like Clough's at Leeds " Lethen here.. you're all donkey's and I won the th th European cup TWICE with 2 different teams.. and can play the ball etc". A character like Wellens wouldn't appreciate that..

On paper the start of the season always looked tough.. Let's see where we are after another 4/5 games if it's the same position it's simple - Sousa will be fired!

If Vitor (and perhaps Zayate) and Abe prove to be quality signings, our season could turn around very quickly. By the sounds of it we are crying out for a class centre back and defensive midfielder.
