Of course not, all I 'know' is what I've been told (by someone who should know what they are talking about). It seems to be fairly well accepted that Wellens (at least) is desperate to get away.
He's being paid pretty good money and I would have hoped that a good pro would knuckle down and get on with it - many of us in all walks of life don't get on with our bosses brilliantly, but we have to make the best of it. If that's his attitude perhaps we would be better off without him. I wonder if he actually had the bottle to put a transfer request in - or is he agitating for a move without doing that so he can still get a cut of any transfer fee? If it's the latter then he is a bit of a weaseling twat in my opinion.

:icon_lol::icon_lol: I've no idea of the details or whether he plans to knuckle down. As you say he has a duty to continue to give us 100% but we all know this doesn't always happen in reality in these situations.

We have two weeks before Covscum. And I, for one, following yesterday's activity feel a lot better about our club than I did prior.

Whilst I enjoy fans from other clubs coming on here, DryDal is a lovely little thing, I feel now we need to draw a line under the whole Sousa thing. He is our manager right now, and whatever QPR or Swanlea think ain't going to change a thing.

It has been suggested that Waghorn would not have come in should Sousa been the devil some would portray and I think this is salient. Also, I think DT Campb**** going is possibly going to improve morale no end within the squad and it may well have been that little runt who had been causing more problems than Suzie.

So.

We now have a squad with scatterings of potential foreign talent but one huge player who we know could be an absolute Leicester legend in Waggypants. This may have been a deal to appease the fans a tad, but who cares?

You can stick your Robert Koren where your sun no shine. Blue Army..
Sousa's diludedcuntitus seems to be catching. ;)

I saw no evidence whatsoever of any 'new style of play' at the Reading game. It was the same old traditional style we have always played - apart from the fact that the back four (so wonderful in the past two seasons) were an absolute steaming diabolical feckin' shambles

This whole 'new style of play' thing seems to be a load of old bollocks to me - unless the new style is to defend like feckin' amateurs

Quite. It was clear the approach had been altered between the Boro and Reading games. Could well be an admission that he tried to quickly to change things.

Good point. Worked well actually.

Worked well when?

When we lost to Palace, got thumped by Burnley and drew at home to a poor Boro side or when we lost at home to a very average Reading??

The defending was the backbone of our success last season. How can it go to shit over the summer? The perosnnel have been changed and its to the detrament. I mean he hasn't even tried playing Morrison at right back, who is clearly the best player in that position at the club.

Barring Waghorn his signings look terrible, does anyone truly beleive the likes of Lamey, Moreno and Crncic will be city regulars in 12 months time?

Then theres the DJ Campbell fiasco and the fact first team players want to leave.

Couple all that with the fact the players fitness has clearly suffered in the few short weeks since he arrived and I'm trying hard to pull any positives out of the situation.

A solid 'Brown type' replacement urgently needed, and apparently being sought yesterday, so maybe a loan on the way.

Were Hobbs, N'Guessan and Wellens stars from day one?

DJ, on stupid wages, spits out his dummy. What can management do other than loan him until it is possible to sell him?

What is wrong with these highly overpaid professional athletes being responsible for their own fitness? Can't they drag themselves away from their X-box and casino for a few hours so they are able to run around for 90 mins?

Absolutely spot on. There is nothing stopping a professional footballer putting in the extra hours on the training ground. If a footballer is too lazy to get themselves in really good shape then they will never make it.

Hobbs and Wellens were certainly first team regulars and performed to a decent level from day one, yes. N'Guessan will never be good enough at this level IMO.

Your point on Campbell confuses me. If the only option was to loan him out why did Sousa announce him as our key player for the season and play him??

In terms of fitness, these players are the same ones who were fit enough last season. Whats changed? Casino's opening longer?? More Modern Warfare 2 tournaments??? Often players are banned fro conducting their own fitness training as it conflicts with the aims of the fitness guys. We've certainly heard rumour this was the case at Swansea under Sousa.

Same players were fit enough last year.

Waghorn is a good signing partly as an investment and because it shows that the new owners are prepared to show intent.

I doubt whether Sousa was the main driver behind this signing.

All will be revealed over the next couple of months (or less if we keep losing) as to whether Sousa is as bad as some of us suspect he is.

Why give him that long? I don't want to see him stand still for a minute on that pitch. And if he misses a one-on-one, well, that should be the end of him.

If he doesn't have a shot when in the opponents half when in possesion within 30 seconds, doesn't score 3 30yard screamers a week, doesnt score within 15minutes of playing, doesnt score a goal during a match, doesn't skim somebody within 3 minutes and doesn't have a shot on target in the first 5 minutes we get rid!

My mates an Ipswich fan, and they had the same deal with Keane. He came in after Ipswich finished 9th in 08/09 and was 'expected' to take them forward. However only a handful of games had been played before a lot of their fans were slating him - saying that he was destroying their team, that his signings were unknown etc etc (sound familiar). They didn't win their first game until October/November, were bottom of the table, and had scored 6 goals in 8 home games. They finished the season well ending up in 15th, and look a completely different team this season.
Change takes time - Sousa may turn out to be a flop, but I might remind you that MO'N didn't exactly have a flying start. With Pearson, he could only really take the team higher, and he did well - but from what I saw last season (limited due to where I live now) I felt we overachieved a little. The momentum we built up from our league one campaign carried us higher than a lot of people thought it would, but with the shake up over the summer that momentum is gone, and it will take time to rebuild. We just need to be patient.

Its a good point although I'm sure there are more examples of the opposite outcome and as yet Keane has achieved nothing.
