will tigers fans be able to get discount on city tickets and vice versa?

the people (i wonder how many) who try and go tigers AND city home games will never miss a match, here's a chance to fleece rich fans and give them more sport

and i bet the reserves won't ever play at the walkers again (hello hinckley's new stadium!)

Mixing Football and Rugby? Sounds like an American game to me! :D

Nothings been the same since leaving Filbert Street - If we hadn't built the new ground we wouldn't be in the financial situation were in!

I don't get it at all - are those opposed to this share seriously saying they prefer it that we pay US investors rent for the Walkers?

This is a) common sense b) will save/make money and c) allows further development of the stadium in the future a real possibility!

The only down-side would be if we had awful playing conditions, which I don't believe we will necessarily.

It's just an identity thing though Alex, it wouldn't be our home, it'd be ours and the tigers home. Sounds horrible.

The Home of Leicester...

It's things like this that get me very angry and leave me feeling really embarrassed.

This proposal makes perfect sense to me, making both clubs financially stronger and making the city of Leicester a lot more famous.

I suggest people will look at this in 2 ways, those that are the died in the wool traditionalists, who are not really interested in whether we are successful or not, will look on this negatively, whilst those who are passionate to see us succeed and establish ourselves at the highest level will view this positively.

Lets also try and discuss this thoughtfully and sensibly, without embarrassing ourselves with the unintelligent use of bad language.

Agreed, Bollocks.

it was bound to happen. the bowl isn't our home anyway, it's soul-less, filbo is where we live... :(

why not give the grace road boys a shout to play there too? the riders could use the evenings too!

I see it as the third decent move by the board in the last two months:

1. getting shut of Adams/Bassett
2. appointing a manager who seems to have a brain
3. getting the stadium out of foreign ownership and putting it within an all Leicester framework.

I have sniped at this board repeatedly -but they may just be getting their act together.

Its the crappiest idea ever :(
The fans were involved in the "City or Fosse" decision, and should be asked again over this load of bo**ocks.
Just say NO

Rational debate is out the Homer. If I might stoop to your level for a moment.... you really are a bit of a tw*t. (and I think an a is more appropriate than an i)

An A is always more appropriate than an I because there are two A's in 'appropriate' and just one I. You seem very keen on stating the obvious.

For all of those against this idea can you please explain your resaons why so they can be debated.

This subject demands intelligent discussion.

Simply saying BOLLOCKS is an embarrassing and stupid response.

I wear pants and so does my mate but we don't share a pair because it's cheaper, we would just lose our self respect and the respect of others and I would probably end up catching some sort of nasty rash off him.

How's that?

The biggest issue here is the fans from both sides have not been given a chance to put there points accross before it has been announced that it is happening, we should have had a chance to do this regardless of whether it would happen or not.
Reading this forum and the Tigers link it seems to me that a majority do not like the idea. A ground share means that we do not have our own identities, I do not have a problem with rugby/Tigers fans, in fact I am quite proud of what Tigers have achieved, but I would like to watch LCFC at thier own football ground, in blue and white, with it own identity, not a super stadium that has Tigers written all around it.
It is a head and heart thing, the head says the money side is good, the heart just sinks at the thought.
Today is just another step into corporate rules and two fingers up to the humble supporter.

homer you T*T, the whole point of the ground share is so that we can own a stadium again. The two cloubs are joining so that they can form an organisation that can buy the stadium. Tigers are only involved cus they are successfull and have money that could be of use to us.
As well as this look at all the media attention we are getting , especially with all this talk of bringing back artificial pitches again ( but i cant see this happening).
Also both teams are investing 100s of thousands of pounds to ensure that we have one of the highest quality playing surfaces worldwide so i cant see there being a problem with the pitch there. Next time make sure you get some backround knowledge of the subject before you start slagging off the idea that will cut our running costs of they ground by half, and for us im sure that will be a rather substantial saving therfore creating more money for Craig Levein so he can get us back in the prem the season after this one.

i'd like to see some numbers from the club...

how much rent are they paying on the stadium now?

how much would they pay per year on a (say) 25 year mortgage to own it 50%?

they use artificial pitches for american football and they hold up really well, and look and 'feel' (apparently) like very good grass surfaces.

i always thought a ground share was inevitable at some time in the future.

"It will not mean a substantial amount of monies being made immediately available to strengthen the playing side but, on a general level, will enable us to compete more effectively against other football clubs."

What was that about background knowledge

If this goes ahead the Council should give all of the proceeds from the sale of the Tigers ground land to the clubs, or is that going in pockets?
