Dont know if anyone is watching Central Soccer Night but Ollie is on and he is speaking some pretty good stuff...

Reckons Milan is a top guy, we dont have the right balance in the team at all (no shit sherlock) but realises he will be judged on who he brings in in January.

Pretty sensible stuff and its changing my opinion of the guy :038:

yeah, i agree, he needs to be given transfer window. After all, we've had 4 managers this season and they've done feck all. It's clearly ythe players not the managers

After reading his interview in The Guardian I'm impressed. I like the guy. Down to earth, humble, and willing to tell Milan he's in charge of the team. Mind you it doesn't take Einstein to notice we have way too many right backs. :icon_conf

He needs to be given more than the bloody January transfer window. The guy has a reputation of building teams, not completely transforming them in a few months.

We have quite a lot of the cack players out of contract in the summer, so he'll be able to do more then. Plus your options are limited in January as teams just don't won't to sell.

The give him January stuff really cheeses me off.

Yeah the guardian article is pretty good. ot sure if the link has been posted before but ....

EDIT: just seen this has been posted...oh well.

There's also an interesting interview on LCFC world in which he basically says if the players don't start performing then there out. Sounds like he's not going to take any crap!

Fully agree, Babs

This season is a feckin' disaster - all I want to see is a bit of feckin' effort, playing the right men in the right formation, and a few points scattered here and there.

We won't be able to pick up anything decent in the January transfer window (not enough to get established in the top half of the table, anyway) and it is the summer where the real wheeling and dealing should begin. We should simply use January to bring in a couple of (midfield) players to make sure we don't go down

He then starts next season with his own team, his own pre-season and plenty of goodwill

Which means he will probably be out by October

Is that thread with who is out of contract at the end of each year still about? I think this is the year we get rid of Maybury and MVD!

From memory it should be, Maybury, Elvis, MDV, Douglas, Newton.

Kaebi, Neilson, Kishishev and maybe Hellings will be let go hopefully.

I agree Babs and that's why I can't understand all this crazy shit whenever we lose a game. This season is gonna be rough - another one we have to bear out but the club needs stability, we won't see real results of Holloway's management until next season.

At the minute, I don't feel the world is going to cave in on every bad result - it's gonna take time. We can hope he motivates the players and get them playing with some effort and confidence - like I seen at Brizzle City and replicate that.

Just because this bloke has to be given a chance (medium to long term) doesn't mean that we should continue to tolerate complete and utter shit without comment. The Southampton performance was a feckin' disgrace, and that point should not be ignored just because 'we've got what we've got'

He can still be judged on what he is able to get out of this shower - same as Kelly, Worthington, Allen and Megson were before him

But seems to be someone who hasn't been to these disasters. Everyone over-reacts.....

In Ollie's defence I'd like to say that he hasn't signed anyone yet. His past record shows that he has a pretty good eye for talent. Also, Southampton were arguably the best team we've played so far. And as for you tolerating anything without comment ... well that just isn't going to happen. :icon_conf

Give him a chance to unearth more unknown talent. Whi had heard of Halmiosi until he turned up at Plymouth or the guy Buzasky, who went to QPR just before Ollie came to us. If he could find 2/3 players of this calibre and get rid of a few also rans we have a chance.

No they weren't, they were average to shite - as anyone who actually went to the game can testify :icon_roll
