It doesn't work like that, they have to go through loads of psychological evaluation etc before they decide whether to do it or not.

Whereas with Alzheimer's they just get told to f off because the treatment which could give them a real quality of life is too expensive

:icon_roll As pointed out earlier in this thread this is a typical "Sun" attitude trying to make out something's bad by comparing it to something completely unrelated. To have a sex change you first have to go through loads of Psychological test, then you have to live as a person of the other sex for at least a year while being monitered before you can have it done.

how can they fund sex changes? that money should be spent on kids with terminal cancer or snow ploughs or lowering the taxes on ale!

Jeff - you seem to know a lot about the feelings that he-she's go through before they get the change. Is there maybe something you would like to share with us.

Mmm...Didn't realise there were so many experts on the subject on this forum.

(In the voice of the comic book guy from The Simpsons) "Worst comparison ever."

Is it fair that someone who smokes and gets cancer gets treated over a young child? Is it fair that drug addicts get substances to help them try and kick the habit over a young child? Should a 80 year who has cancer get treated instead of a young child?

The list could go on all night

P.S It is a very funny photo :)

This is a silly arguement too. If as a smoker they are refused treatment should they not then have the right to opt out of National Insurance?

Insurance payments like America is the way to go. That way Under 18's can still get free treatment and smokers would have higher premiums to pay. Far fairer system imo. Sex changes on the NHS is a disgrace. Why should I as a tax payer give toward this? I would rather my money go towards Cancer treatment etc. Afterall having a knob is not a death sentence. Perhaps it would be better to teach acceptance of who they are rather than wasting all that money on change.

smokers have to pay LESS

we die of a heart attack quickly...

it's all these non-smokers who stretch out NHS resources with their Alzheimers

;)

I went down this route with Biff's back and the answer is of course to treat everyone without any sense of moralising or discrimination. :) :icon_wink

Except them gender confused nancy boys!! :icon_wink

Neither is depression, autism, broken leg, many forms of cancer or keyhole surgery on a twisted knee. Should all this be dropped from the NHS?

No - They are genuine medical problems. Having an unwanted knob is not on the same playing field. It is on the same level as giving big fatties a gastric band - They should eat sensibly and exercise to lose weight. Also what type of cancer is not life threatening?

They are only "genuine" medical problems because you say they are, they are no different, depression in particular, to serious transgernderism.

OK cancer is life threatening, but with modern drugs there are a few that aren't the death sentence they were.

Sad ****ers

I'm not sure what you are saying here...
