That's quite a different thing. People are usually unfit because they can't be arsed to do something about it while the participants in Paralympics have done the best they could do under the circumstances.
I haven't read a line let alone watched something about it here so I can't really comment on the TV coverage.

which isn't good enough for the real olympics so why bother. they don't have a seperate world cup for people such as myself who try at their football but are just a little bit too talentless. as far as i can tell the special olympics only puts them out to be ridiculed and not respected as was (hopefully) the intention of whoever decided it was a good idea
