I don't think that's the issue.....NP has said no to Savage: so if didn't want Dickov, the story still wouldn't be slapping around...

I've got absolutely no idea, I'm afraid.
Think dickov has the right attitude in terms of the football. Pearson did say as long as the player is prepared to role up the sleaves it didn't matter if they were 20 or 35. Or something along those lines.
I think from what MM said in the interview on bbc that savage wasn't really an option too.

It's not just about how good he is as a player though.
His attitude with the sheep has been appalling, there's no guarantee it will improve if he comes here. Do we really need an overpaid prima donna disrupting the team spirit?

IMHO HF, from what I saw of him last season (live, not on TV) his performances do not warrant our interest. I accept that this is a hell of a step down but the impression I got was that he just was not bothered.
