Pearson to be sacked in the next 5 games?

Disgrace if true, hope all the Pearson haters who were being very vocal (and fickle) before this run feel a tad resposible.

The owners are totally clueless. Just shows they make decisions based on the last few days/hours as suspected.

I never said anything that suggested otherwise?

Here's a hypothetical, would you all swap Kasper for someone like Vorm if he became available? It's a similar (albeit hypothetical) scenario. Kasper's doing fine and I'm happy for him to be between the sticks but if you've got the opportunity to improve your team, and someone like Vorm would be a step up, you'd be foolish not to consider it. It's harsh on Pearson, as it would be on Kasper, but the fact remains Redknapp is a better manager than Pearson is and probably ever will be. Ok some people don't like him because they see him as the reason Pompey went down the pan, but he's been successful time and time again and he's not the same as Sven who has arguably been in managerial decline for a long while. He's still very much at the top of his game.

I personally don't think Redknapp would ever come here, but if he wanted to, I'd be considering paying off Nigel and risk rocking the applecart because I think it could potentially be a much better option, especially if we got promoted. I'd much rather have a manager with bags of premier league experience than one with none whatsoever, at the start of a Premier League campaign.

Don't take this the wrong way (I'm pretty sure quite a lot of you will). I'm not saying I want it to happen. At this stage of the season, I'm happy with Pearson but I wouldn't be too indifferent if it happened or if it didn't.

I'm of the opinion that firing Pearson and hiring Redknapp would be the death rattle of a dying club. The fact we are even having this conversation shows just how insanely dysfunctional this club is. It's borderline embarrassing being a city fan when these kinds of rumours surface.

I'm with you, it's madness of the highest order. We would be making Blackburn look like a well run club.

We simply cannot sit back and enjoy a cracking run and being the supporters of a well performing team, we always have to have some ridiculous Bullshit steaming in the background at all times.

****ing annoying

What exactly has Harry achieved in his career as a manger that makes you think we would be in a better situation with him in charge this season?

He's won the FA Cup, and that will hardly help us this or next season. He is for some reason held in a high regard by many, and I can't for the life of me understand why.

You're assuming our current players would fit into Redknapp's style. We've seen countless times over the past couple of years that that is absolutely not always the case.

We saw with Pearson that it didn't necessarily work to start off with but now he's had a year to get players in to fit his style it is doing. Bring in Redknapp and we could well be back to square one again as our players might not work under him (just as they didn't when he went to Southampton) and we'd have to go backwards again and wait yet another season or two to get his team together. Ok, it may work straight away under Redknapp but what exactly is the point of risking it when we're doing so well?

Sacking Pearson to get Redknapp in would be an utterly ludicrous gamble we really don't need to make.

I completely agree with everything you've said. I'm a huge ARRY fan so I'm a bit biased.

HOWEVER - it would be a disgraceful & devastating move by the club to do it now and to have done it (allegedly) behind NP's back whilst he was still in charge is nothing short of disgusting.

P.S - Nobody will agree with you.

I don't think the question of what Harry Redknapp has achieved needs to be brought up. He would be a fantastic manager to have at any level.

BUT that doesn't make this the right time or the right actions.

It's interesting to me that they chose go to TalkSport rather than the local station. It either means that our local correspondent, Stringer, really is so far off the ball he can't get the bigger stories or, they want national attention for the story to effect some sort of end game. When is Pearson's contract up?

For the record, Redknapp would be an awful choice for us. I can also see this being a case of Harry being sounded out when were on a bad run of form and the effect lingering on, rather than looking to do it despite the current run.

So if you're not going to use what he has or hasn't done, what are you basing this fantastic reputation on? The ludicrous salaries he offers out? The money he wastes on average players? His media persona? You just want transfer deadline day to have him back in a car window?

So because he hasn't won more than 1 F.A cup & his previous clubs board have given him a huge budget he's an awful manager?

I don't need to list the things Harry Redknapp has achieved because you shouldn't have to ask that question.

Honestly?

After a struggling start to the season the owners have been tempted by an EPL level manager.
Ask Southampton fans what they think of him, he was relegated with them. Ask most Portsmouth fans and they blame him for their eventual relegation. He did OK at Spurs - we don't have the kind of money he was able to throw around there. West Ham fans have mixed views about his managerial talents. He would be a goatfuck of the first order at our place.

No, you can't list them. He's one of those managers that people seem to think is a lot better than he is because he has a laugh in the media. He would be a step sideways at best at the minute and the financial implications would be a disaster. Having money to spend is one thing, spending it all on Kanu is another.

Doesn't matter to me if it was Alf Ramsey himself they were talking to...its mad to even contemplate a change at this stage. And I say that as someone not 100% convinced about Pearson.

Add in Harry Redknapp + millions of pounds + shadowy foreign owner and you've got a recipe for disaster.
