I used to think like that before one of my dogs became affected by Cushings Syndrome. The diagnosis was an expensive one and then the treatment cost about £1.50 per day for the rest of her life. I would seriously consider insurance in the future. And don't forget that veterinary services are far cheaper in the Westen Isles than they are on the mainland, especially in south-east England.

Well we have a much more varied diet up here

If it's any consolation (to your pocket and those who doubt your sanity), when we were at the vet's last, we overheard someone paying out over £300 - for a hamster!! To be fair, we didn't see the beast in question...it may have been a very big, pedigree, Grand National type of hamster with a glittering career on the stage in front of it...goodness knows how much cosmetic surgery costs these days...

Glad your cat's feeling better though
same here I was worried she is such a nice loving cat and I knew at once that something was wrong. Thanks for all the good wishes, :038:will update you further when I get home.

They had been together all their lives and when she had gone the Vet had warned us that he might go downhill quick. Not easy making the decision to end his life and actually going into the Vets room with him knowing that I wouldn't be coming out with him was a choker a real tough one:102:

I bet it was mate, I was on the net last night, looking at all sorts of things that could have been wrong with her.. It was awful just thinking about it.
