Had a think about this one when the vote on the OS came on and I couldn't decide between King, Wellens, Naughton and Gallagher all of whom I think have had very good seasons, but none have really stood out amongst the rest and all have had dips in form.

In the end I decided to plump for King because I felt he's been our strongest attacking force over the season as whole (based on him having 14 goals and 5 assists).

Wot he said, as usual.

I also voted for Naughton, but it was a hard decision between him, Gally and Wellens

This was much more difficult than last year because the team at the end of the season is so different from that at the start. I have enjoyed watching Bamba more than any other player this season but do not want to vote for a player who came half way through.

In the end for me it came down to Wellens, King and Naughton. I decided against King because I feel he has been underperforming during the last nine or ten games. I went for Wellens rather than Naughton because I felt he was playing well in those first few games when others were poor. Over the 44 games I feel that Wellens has had more good games than any other player.

Think this will be the closest run one for years as I don't think there's one real stand-out.

Usually you can predict who will win it but I think this year it could be any one of four (Wellens, King, Naughton, Gallagher).
