I wonder if Usain Bolt has ever been on a piss up in the middle of the athletics season.

Seems to spend a fair bit of time making shit adverts...surprised if he finds the time for drink.

So presumably what we are also saying here is (for example) if you are a salesman, and know your yearly target has been achieved, you shouldn't have a good solid pissup at any point until the financial year is over? Let's assume here you are selling very high value goods.

These players have worked very hard to achieve promotion. It's a huge milestone for most of them and I'd think a massive relief after last season's disappointment... I can't blame them at all for having a few drinks really. Would people be as enraged if the performance had been crap and they hadn't been out on the lash, instead they had been (for example) go-karting instead of training?

No - sorry chaps but I think some people are showing their age / criticising others' way of celebrating - not always right you know... Yes, going out and getting smashed is stupid, but I think most 18-25s across the ages would have celebrated like this.

Don't have an issue with it at all.

The man that has chicken nuggets the morning of an Olympic final?

Yeah, I reckon so.

Hmm.

Clearly I have a more lenient approach to this than most.

Young men, with a lot of income, celebrating a major milestone in their careers. Thank **** nobody followed me around with a camera in my youth. I'd also add that a lot of bouncers are absolute dicks, especially to anyone they view as a threat to their alpha manhood.

Understand that people paid to see the Brighton performance and in that regard it's pretty shit. But I'd say most people have got their money's worth this year from this side.

Completely agree.

They'd achieved an incredible landmark, and were entitled to relax. If some of them chose to do that with alcohol, so be it.

They're in the entertainment industry, not brain surgeons.

Time here for a bit of calm..... I have watched the videos a couple of times and saw little evidence of either a brawl or mayhem. MW and RDL might appear slightly unsteady (by no means falling about) whilst seemingly engaging in conversation with a couple of 'big lads'. I suspect that there has been some exaggeration in the descriptions and more from the critics during comment. It is difficult to arrive at any fair conclusion from the actual evidence posted.

typical holier than thou attitude from the general replies.
That definitely isn't the impression that I got at all from the general replies and it certainly couldn't describe my post

looks like a fuss over nothing to me although they must very soon make the link between being premier league players and an expected level of self control in public. if the press sniff a story, they will go looking for one (remember la manga and what that did to our campaign?). love the way that a sober looking kasper tries to intervene - so 'scandinavian' - i suspect he was on orange juices!

With you on this. The circumstances were rather strange as we went up whilst the players were off duty. I would have been amazed if some of them hadn't got bladdered that Saturday.
P.S. I am truly grateful that nobody in this thread, even those criticising the players, hasn't mentioned the players are " role models ". They are not.

Its a sad state of affairs that people refer to footballers/musicians/pornstars etc as role models.
