Thanks for taking this on NF and Boc, count me in.

Is brauny in? after his heroics he should get a starting place.

There's no need to worry about anybody a place. Everyone who sends in predictions will be included in the tables.

Just a note to keep you in touch with what is going on behind the scenes:

Firstly, we've had so many entries that we're going to scrap the idea of having just the two leagues. It's bad enough when you're at the bottom of a league of 20 - if you look up, all you can see is a lot of teams in front of you and you know that you will never catch up. And with only 2 leagues we would have been talking about nearer to 30 teams each rather than 20, so we're going to make it THREE leagues. Same format as outlined earlier - from now until the end of October, the leagues will be 'equal' leagues. Then for the next mini-season, the top slice of each league will go into the Premier Prediction League, the middle slice into the Fizzy Prediction League and the rest into the Chumps Prediction League. From then on, there'll be promotion and relegation - we'll decide how may once we see how big the leagues are.

I'm not going to waste my time and yours sorting everybody into 3 leagues, in case there is another influx and we have to change it all again. At the moment we're up to 52 teams and still some of the big names in last year's competition have not put in an appearance.

To mark the start of the All-New NottsBoc Prediction League, we thought we would also modify the scoring a little. We're upping the points for a totally correct result to 5 and introducing a new 3-point reward for forecasts that have the correct goal difference but the wrong score. 1 point will continue to be awarded for a correct result where neither the exact score or the correct goal-difference is forecast. In the case of a draw, it will be 5 points for a correct score, 3 points if you're 1 goal out and just the 1 point if you're 2 or more goals out.

Just to clarify:

Actual score = 2-1

You say 2-1 and get 5 points
You say 3-2 and get 3 points (for getting the correct goal difference)
You say 1-0 and get 3 points (for getting the correct goal difference)
You say 2-0 and get 1 point

You say 1-1 or 1-2 and get sweet **** all!

Actual score = 2-2

You say 2-2 and get 5 points
You say 1-1 or 3-3 and get 3 points
You say 0-0 or 4-4 and get just 1 point

You say 1-0 or 0-1 and you get SFA

And another thing - with two of us doing the comp this season, we reckon that we're going to have enough energy to do the mid-week games as well - so watch out for them. Remember that you're not going to win it if you don't take advantage of the points that can be won in the midweekers.

Now I've just a look at the predictions in the other thread. 39 people have already sent them in - still plenty to go then - don't forget to send them in!

Boc/Notts, are you keeping the top division as it was in Brauny's last prediction season?

No. This is the All-New NottsBoc Prediction Leagie; we wanted to give everybody the same chance right from the start and that is why we are starting with the league system as outlined above.
