Stoke are offering free away travel to every one of their games this coming season. No catch, small print etc, just buy a ticket and get to the game and back for nothing.

:038::038::038: Excellent scheme, absolutely love it. Well done SCFC.

They're supplying coaches that will run direct from the Britannia to the away grounds, not a collection of free National Express tickets for circuitous routes involving changing at fetid northern bus stations in the early hours. You would hate it!

Here's the article from their website:

Club Announce Free Away Travel

STOKE CITY are to offer their supporters free coach travel to all of their Premier League games in the 2013-14 season, the Club has announced today.

It is believed to be the first time any side in England’s top four divisions has undertaken such a bold initiative for an entire campaign.

Coaches will leave from the Britannia Stadium for all 19 of the Potters’ top flight matches, starting with their Premier League curtain raiser against Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday 17th August.

The Club is introducing the initiative on the back of the increase in their income delivered by the new TV deals, in a bid to try and ease the financial burden on fans who follow City on their travels.

Chief Executive Tony Scholes said: “As a Club we are conscious that following football can be an expensive business, especially at a time when so many people are feeling the squeeze financially.

“We work hard to try and provide our supporters with value for money which is why we have not increased our ticket prices since being promoted to the Premier League in 2008.

“However, we realise how expensive following the Club away from home can be for supporters and we’re delighted to be able to offer free coach travel and hope it encourages more of them to give us their fantastic backing away from home.”

That's very nice. Hope they take them up on the offer and give them a good support, we moan about modern football most of the time (for good reasons) but initatives like this deserve to be backed.

I've had to wait 28 years but I finally have something nice to say about Stoke City, brilliant stuff by the club.

Bale rumoured to be off to Spain. Would be disappointed if he left the PL as he's fantastic to watch.

Surely it wasn't just a half-arsed idea to get a move without requesting a transfer dreamed up by a **** of an agent and ****ed up by a thick twat of a player?

No. It could never have been that.
