We've had this debate on here a few times but I think it's now widely accepted that the announced attendance isn't the actual attendance any more, it's just the number of tickets sold/reserved.

There are some really wide discrepancies from those clubs detailed in the attached. It's always been an annoyance to me just how many empty seats we have at most games, especially in the family end where parents have tickets for kids that don't turn up.

Particularly against Wolves, there were loads of empty seats in the kop too. Ticket exchanges apparently exist but clubs could do much better at this I think.

It's a complete flip from the figures that used to be declared when I were a lad. Back then, the attendance would be announced and everyone would comment that there was at least twice that number in the ground.

The consensus was that the turnstile operators had taken a cut of the gate and/or the tax man was being kept in the dark about walk up cash sales.

Perhaps it's time for two figures to be published. The tickets sold total and an actual bums on seat figure.
The technology is there.

I believe that the clubs do have the actual attendance figures, they have to have them for crowd control purposes, etc. God knows why they think we can't see through their made up figures, the worst offenders being Arsenal IMO.

I don't give a feck what figures they/we claim - why does anyone care about this ? It's quite odd that this is a 'thing' for some people

The real (and only) issue is the fact that, despite promising one a year ago, we do not have any form of ticket exchange procedure - so that if ST holders can't make it to a game, there is no way that they can recycle those seats to someone else - unless they do it themselves with friends/family etc. (and even then, I think it's against the rules for them to do so)

My seat was empty against Liverpool

But how will we know which club is really the 'biggest'?

I upgraded a kids season ticket to a senior citizen in the family stand for the Liverpool game, because I did it after 10:30am on the day of the match, I didn’t know until after that time, the the child couldn’t go. They took the season ticket off me, warned me that if it happened again, i would not be alloed to change the seat, they then sent it back to me in the post with a letter updating me of the rules and regulations

I fancy Fulham to get something at Man City this afternoon.

Had a look at the odds for a draw but was struck by the fact that they're 30/1 to win.

Fulham have a good side. Fiver on it. Stranger things have happened.
