I genuinely don't know how we escaped it according to my predictions. I'm pretty sure I wasn't optimistic. There are a lot of 'six pointers' at the bottom of the league to come - this could be the one saving grace we need....

I should think so. I wasn't deliberately trying to make us lose; it was more just based on the performances I've seen so far. We're not miles behind in terms of quality of football, but we just don't know how to win Premier League matches.
