When was the last time they actually finished in the top 2? 6, 7 years ago? I think they've only finished 3rd once or twice in that time as well. How people still consider them title contenders at the start of every season is beyond me.

I think getting rid of Fabregas could be the big opportunity for them. No idea why they've persisted with a wantaway for so long, let alone make him captain. The money from him, Nasri and Cliche (sp) would be enough to fill the gaps in the entire team, with only Nasri one I would miss.

If Henderson is worth £20million and Andy Carroll £35million, Downing is worth £19million all day long.

Makes Ashley Young look a bargain, eh?

Oh course the answer is that none of the first 3 are worth that - but however distorted the market may be, the market is the market and the market participants will establish the going rate themselves.
