Puel out

My only concern is that I believe he has changed the team and playing all these young lads thinking we are already safe...looking at the table I think it could be a record year for points earned by a relegated team over a 38 game season.

Most managers tend to enjoy instant success. It's what follows after that's often the problem...

I consider myself as a moderate, but things are very divided, and that isn’t sustainable in the long term. Anything that pulls the fan base apart, is not something that can continue.

The lad at wolves wasn’t appointed this season so isn’t actually relevant OGS, Claudio, Siewert & Hasslehootle are this seasons appointees
The question was.... "Which PL managers have come in and had instant success this year?".
He came into the PL this season the same as Puel and, considering Wolves were touted to go straight back down, is enjoying instant success. Asked and answered.

Some are saying that the KP management recruitment has been pretty poor.
By what yardstick?
I'd say apart from a couple of successful periods, City's management recruitment since the 60's has been pretty poor.
For those wanting to be entertained, go back to the 70's. We were the most entertaining team, but won sod all. (1 FA cup semi final appearance!)
Jimmy Bloomfield assembled (bought) a very good and entertaining team -( including 'the Birch' !)
Good to watch, good atmosphere, but as you say, we never needed the keys to unlock the trophy cabinet

Shhhh. That doesn’t fit his narrative.

But it does, precisely.

Nuno was already there and OGS is literally the only one that could be argued a success and that is very much still in the honeymoon period.

Out of the lists posted above, the majority turned out to be duffers.

Oh ok, we’d better just not bother doing anything and watch ourselves free fall, because other clubs have changed managers and it hasn’t worked out.

Great plan.

Are we in free fall though? No.

Soton, Everton & West Ham have all recently changed managers under almost the exact same circumstances that most are advocating here. They all regressed as a result.

In fact, go through all of the above lists and count how many were successful.

Ok better not do it then.

Well, could we all agree that one point since New Year isn’t ideal and if replicated over the coming two months would leave room for improvement until the end of the season?

Not ideal.
However, before the last 3 games, many were saying we would be lambs to the slaughter.
Which was far from the case!
We have a run of favourable games coming up, it is now up to the players and management to show they can take that level of performance to the "harder to break down teams" and not let us, & themselves, down.
Which has been the case on more than 1 occasion.
Do Palace, and the rest may just follow
Lose to Roy n co, and, well, you know the rest ....

Of course it isn't ideal, in fact it is much worse than that but the first poor run whilst we are still safe in mid table should not be cause to press the panic button.

Of course if we were to finish below 12th come the end of the year then it would be a disappointing season and probably would be reason to suggest a change is required.

Right now it isn't though, we have just come out of a tough run of games where the points haul has been poor, but there has been plenty of postives too and plenty to suggest that the rest of the season will produce a better result.

Im confident that come the end of the year we will be fine. Given there are no obvious choices of replacement and more managerial appointments seem to turn out to be duffers, it seems better to stick with what we have for now.

We're a lot closer to getting things right on the pitch rather than looking a shambles so tearing it up right now seems a short sighted and knee jerk type reaction.
