Puel out

The facts from his interview were:

If people want us to finish higher than 7th this year, it's not possible - check

Losing Mahrez and expecting a club of our size to just be able to replace him like that is not possible - check

Wolves, Everton & West Ham have all spent more than us and are able to - check

If we want to compete at the top, the best way of doing this is through developing players over a few years rather than chucking endless money at it - check

This position at this stage in the season? Absolutely correct. But if we had that attitude at the start of the season, it’s a worry. It’s a defeatist attitude. And the chances are if we stick with Puel for the rest of the season I think we’ll finish 11th/12th. Not good enough.

True. But let’s face it, we were expecting a better replacement than Ghezzal.

Agree with this, however these young players we want to develop won’t hang around long enough to be developed with the style of football and defeatist attitude we’re playing with.

But he doesn't 'shrug off the culture at the ground' at all and you probably need to read the interview again.
To be fair I think you’re referring to two different interviews. I think you’re referring to his pre match interview and MA is referring to the post match BBC interview, where he does portray that he doesn’t give two shits about the fans views.

So you agree with it all then?

Perhaps he would have loved to have signed Anderson that West Ham got but was told we don't have the money?

He's clearly been told we aren't spending big.

Fair enough as I haven't seen MOTD, well not ours anyway!

I think there is one simple question that most semi-intelligent (so not a tricky question) people would like an answer to:

“Why did we play 3 defensive midfielders at home to Southampton?”

So you agree with it all then?
Why don’t you just read my post, I’m not going to type it all about again.

Is everything black and white in your world?

I did and you seemed to agree with it but decided to add in some extra to try and fit your agrument such as assuming Puel said this to the players at the start of the season. He didn't, he said it now and it is true. Even if he did say it at the start of the season, 7th would have been a very good target for us and something we would have all been happy with.

You agree about Mahrez.

And you agree about about developing players but then make up some nonsense about us having a defeatist attitude?

So yes, you did agree with it all but just waffled on a lot too.

You didn't answer last time.

Do you enjoy going down the KP and watching us?

Do you think our setup at home is good?

I can't believe that anyone supportive of Puel has been at most of the home games over the last year.

Those that have feel exactly the same as Southampton fans who endured the same.

It's torture.

Agreed,

I'm usually one for giving a manager time and hate the managerial merry-go-round that football is renowned for.

But this bloke has me almost at the point of wanting to stay in the pub / do something else.

Regardless of whether people are wrong or right on their feeling about Puel, I can guarantee that he will oversee falling attendances and general decline in interest in the club. Which based on what we've achieved through mentality in the past is ****ing criminal.

In or out, he's zapping the feeling and the atmosphere out of Leicester

I watched the post match interview. He literally does exactly that.

He's talking about that interview in the Mercury the other day

Everyone else is talking about his post match interview on MOTD

Hardly surprising that he's missing the point completely

It can be frustrating at times and the past couple of games incredibly so, but then it can also be excellent as games like Man City were amazing feelings.

Home has been poor at times but generally speaking, being in and around best of the rest, we must be doing something right.

Nothing is drastically wrong at the moment, a more creative emphasis in the middle of the park is all we are really lacking so making change in management right now seems hasty.

I'm reserving judgement on him until the end of the season as I think to have lost our best player in the summer and then our chairman just a couple of months ago, where we are right now is actually a very good achievement.

Seventh (eighth now - and ninth, if Everton beat Bournemouth) is not a bad place to be but, this has no bearing upon the question as to why CP felt that eight defensively minded players was the best option for a home game against a team in the bottom three and with a list of injuries and suspensions to make your hair curl.

He doesn't help himself by getting quoted, in the Mercury, as saying that the formation had nothing to do with our defeat. It is as if Claude Puel MUST be right, whatever he does. Everyone makes mistakes: a wise man learns from them, a fool denies them.

So you’re happy watching boring dull defeatist football. Constant passing across and back. No creativity. Little or no goal threat. One of the premier leagues best strikers more or less redundant. A keeper who can’t get the ball to a blue shirt. Slow build up to allow the opposition to get 11 men behind the ball and stifle any attack.

No. You’re right. Nothing wrong at all.
