How do you know this? This is conjecture unless you have personal knowledge? The general consensus is that Puel is anything but malleable. He also seems to be trying to develop our young talent (an attribute that is being suggested our next manager needs) and is, in my (doubtless unpopular) opinion, trying to give us options in the way we play that will take time and will be less than easy on the eye for a while as players adapt.Ranieri, Shakespeare and Puel are not confrontational types. All are/were malleable.
his managerial mantra is "respect the point"He'd be arsed about winning games, that's a step up IMO.

you said he tries to win he doesn't he tries to not lose, Puel has us, in every statistical category, in mid table, if you think we should be doing better then fair enough but we aren't anywhere near relegation form so to suggest Sam is an improvement is just hystericalPoints win prizes. Pissing about with the ball with no purpose doesn't.

serious when you're next at a game watch Puel on the side, he hates the defense just pissing about with it, he wants a more controlled version of what we do well, going direct when its on not as the only thing we do, this much is very clear when he's going made at the players, but without £200bn we cannot completely overhaul the squad over night and in case you've missed it we cannot offload the players he doesn't want easily either after chucking around stupid contracts to players that were not in demand.Puel would be absolutely fine with me if he actually cared about results. We had a great chance of getting a European spot last season but his stubbornness prevented that as his system is more important than results. I definitely wouldn't be chuffed if we got Fat Sam but any manager (including Puel, should he change his ways) who cares about winning/drawing games more than the back 4 passing it about would be cracking.
Relegation isn't a concern for anyone above Southampton I think. I don't think anyone has suggested it is the only goal?

People in this thread were using him picking Chilwell last season as a stick to beat him with, he's been proven right in a big way because he has what too many fans seem to lack, patience.
It's taking longer than I would like but I can see the progress, he seems to be taking the cups seriously as well this season. we will most likely finish somewhere between 7th - 10th, try and be the best of the rest (& hope for a top 6 spot) with a proper go in the cups is about as good as we can do without Man City level investment
Yeah I don’t think the defence wanking about with the ball is part of any system devised by Puel.
he regularly talks of players needing to be more brave, play the aggressive pass rather than the safe one, but they don't do it out of fear, fear of it going astray and the fans getting on their backs, which is all to quick to happenI doubt it too but it's how we play. They either don't get how he wants them to play or can't.

We can't just keep changing managers every time a result goes against us. Although I'm not yet entirely convinced, I still think we need to give him enough time to see what he can do. We're not going to get Klopp or Pep and the alternatives seem no better, or potentially a lot worse, so a period of stability has some appeal.
More seasons in the top flight than any other club I believe. This is their 65th consecutive season. Some say we should be pushing for top 6.
I can't recall Everton out of the top division in my lifetime, yet they don't seem to be very successful at achieving top 6.
Just saying, like. (Lah)
