Seven years later we still haven't made any attempt to sign a single one of them. I think we can all agree we missed out not signing Cameron Park.

As with BN’s post you are just making assumptions about what you know about what goes on behind the scenes. We’ve already seen that players remain on our list for many years, Rudkin is probably still in negotiations.

Paul Doyle on The Guardian Football Weeky podcast today talking about Claudiola.....

“They could be attractive if he does get them to play the way he wants.... the kind of football he played in his last season at Nice before he came to England..... but I don’t know if he has the personality to convince the players to do it...... he’s not meek, anything but meek. Quiet for sure, he’s very intransigent. During his time at Lyon he was ultimately sacked for insubordination..... he took them to court and there was a wrangling for a few years, they eventually found in favour of insubordination on the grounds that he wouldn’t respond to the Chairman’s emails..... But he’s not meek, he’s very set in his ways and that’s one of the reasons why people sometimes find it hard to get on with him”

Hard to know whether to put this in the Puel Out or In thread, but could this be the message the media look back on in a month’s time when things go pear shaped and he hasn’t quite got the backing they say?

Good positive and sensible message from the chairman.

I think it's wise to take these sort of comments with a pinch of salt.

Do you really see Vichai sitting down to write a column for us fans telling us what he thinks about the season ahead? Bollocks did he.

At best, someone from the club submitted a request for some words from him and one of his people penned them and someone from the club turned it into a piece from him. I doubt whether he even read his column, let alone wrote it.

It's an absolute nothing statement filled with the hollowest of platitudes.

"Our primary ambition is a long-term one – to make Leicester City a sustainable and consistently competitive force in the Premier League"
"Season by season, we look for progress"
"Last season, under Claude Puel, we saw the start of an evolution in our squad"
"This season, our evolution will continue with new players in the squad and I’m excited to see the progress we can make."
"At the end of the season, results and league position must always be put into context and it is in these broader distinctions that we monitor whether the club is successfully pursuing that long-term ambition."
"a message of thanks for continuing to show faith in our vision"
"A football club means nothing without its fans and we will continue to keep you at the heart of every decision we make for your club."
"they have he potential to reach great heights"
"Together we can continue to drive forward."

The entire thing is just a string of phrases that mean **** all nothing. Any chairman could say these things about their own club. Absolute waste of time and ink.
