I've had nights out in Coventry, Swansea and Paisley. I don't think Coventry is as bad as it used to be. Swansea, last time I was there on a Thursday night, we walked from the hotel to a pub to meet colleagues. We had to pass two massive puddles of claret - which was rather unnerving.

In Paisley, the hotel staff suggested we didn't leave the hotel after dark unless it was in a pre-booked taxi. Something that also happened in Middlesbrough. And Lagos. And Jo'burg.
