My friend just called me from a bar in Pheonix Sky Harbor airport. He was on this plane that just made an emergency landing. He's a genuinely hard Kiwi guy but he's still in tears. There was apparently a massive explosion, then flames coming from the engine while the air hostesses ran around panicking. Grown men were crying and everyone was calling home and leaving farewell messages. They had to dump all the fuel over the desert and just made it to the runway, followed by loads of fire engines. They were putting everyone on another flight but hardly anyone was going and my mate won't even get on another plane now, he's just going to get drunk and get a shuttle bus home.

Poor bugger, sounds awful...
