Ranieri out

The attack on Claudio and Wes for attending an event is, as others have said, media stirring and I would have hoped that the more thoughtful of TB contributors would have ignored it.

The media reaction has had zero impact on my own views on this one. It's my own opinion that all of this award collecting during the season is partly to blame for the shitty attitude we have seen from many players this year. A constant series of reminders that they are top footballers who have achieved everything and now have nothing to play for.

It's quite sad, you don't asee film stars leaving the set of current filming to go and pickup whichever unheard of award they have won that week, mainly because they are totally focused on the current performance.

We are happy to be distracted and continue to to bask in the glory whilst stinking the ****ing place out.

Also, Ranieri has now claimed we are underdogs for the Millwall game, could he possibly make us look anymore pathetic if he tried?

I maintain that the club should offer refunds to anyone going to the FA Cup or Champions League game, seeing as a few days before both our own manager is saying we don't give a shit.

How on earth have we become such a massive set of losers in this time?

I've seen hundreds of them over the last few weeks do exactly that. and many more in the coming weeks.

Lots of debate up here (Scotland) about Rangers possibly bringing in a director of football and coach rather than just a new manager to replace Mark Warbuton. If we went with this model, would it allow us to 'promote' CR and bring in someone with grit to sort the playing side out? Does it have any pro's or con's and have we already tried this (seems to ring a distant bell)?

I'm sure we did. I can picture the guy (long time manager in the league) who we gave the "director" tag with a young guy as coach but I can't remember his name. was it Basset?

Dave Bassett became manager with Micky Adams as his assistant. I think the plan was always for Adams to replace him, but it happened earlier than expected when we were relegated, and Bassett became Director of Football.
The club's current director of football is Jon Rudkin.

So we've already got this model? What does Jon Rudkin do? Just looking for a way of being respectful towards CR and his achievements while bringing in someone who can give the team the discipline that he doesn't seem to be able to.

I think he sorts out all the superb transfers.

Clearly overseeing the division-leading recruitment program, supervising the acquisition of cars for the squad and keeping tally of the number of bus wanks carried out per month.

Time for Vichai to have a polite word.

Yup. I'd not mind him going after that. Really not arsed either way as I doubt a change of manager will make much difference right now.

'tis all over, but they won't do it until after the drubbing on Wednesday

Might possibly until after next Monday, when we will be out of all competitions and bottom of the League
