Ranieri Sacked

Claudio is and always will be a legend at our club, end of. But so will all the players in the 15/16 season, and that should not be forgotten either. They lost 4 games between April 2015 and May 2016 (the legend started with that 2-1 win against West Ham).

There's a lot left to look forward to this season. Staying up will be a huge win - for us, it always will be. Getting to the quarter finals of the Champion's League is pretty funny when you say it out loud, but we're one goal and a clean sheet away from doing that.

I'm stuck here in Trumpland, but if you're going to the game on Monday... sing for Claudio until kick off, then you have to sing for Leicester and 3 points that might turn our season around.

Just seen further social media platitudes from Morgan, Chilwell and Ndidi. Funny how they've been coming one after another today following radio silence yesterday. Perhaps they'd been told to shut up until reporting for training.

He is clearly evading the question and does so several times. I'm spineless apparently, but even I can see that.

'That which can be asserted without evidence, can be dismissed without evidence.' - Christopher Hitchens

... That said Kasper looked like KellyAnn Conway trying to deflect the question. In reality what else would he say - other than not give the interview? I'm not defending his actions and personally think he's acted the nob, but he certainly would have expressed his opinion to the owners, given he's one of the few to perform this season I'd say he's entitled to it.. Now if Morgan, Vardy or Albrigton (as alleged) had been part of the coup, the chairman should have told them he can't understand why the manger is still picking them and for good measure have someone shit on their car bonnets until form improves.

Sources suggest Walsh would work to a greater degree than Macia on terms before presenting to the club's director of football Jon Rudkin for completion. Communication is also said to be an issue.

Daily tat so take as you will

It's ignorant shit. The man wasn't even here in the summer!

I'd say his only signing (N'Didi) has been excellent. The issue is not his judgement to date but the number of deals we got over the line in January. If he was responsible for this, he's not impressed me but if he's not, I fail to see what the man has done wrong.

Exactly. The likes of Musa and Mendy were clearly Walsh signings.

I have just watched Craig Shakespeare's press conference. When asked about the players attitude he talks of "pure speculation". My experience is that when people talk of "speculation" what they mean is "that is true but I am unable to admit it."

Having a good view of the dugout I have seen no change in the body language between Claudio and Craig. I am tempted to believe that Shakespeare did not stab Claudio in the back. I am tempted to believe that some of the players did.

I am tempted to believe that the owners have a hands on approach and have been talking to all staff, players, coaches, backroom staff etc, and have drawn their conclusions based on the combined feedback. I am tempted to not believe that the players have initiated meetings with the owners. I may be naive though.

I am tempted to believe that, when asked by their employers, everyone at the club gave honest answers to honest questions.

I'm tempted to believe that Claudio had a temper problem, as he has previously in his career, that exhibited itself as things got worse and his frustration increased.

I'm tempted to believe the players didn't play to get him sacked, but lacked the motivation to play well.

I'm tempted to believe that far too many of the fan base are currently in denial or anger phases. I am also tempted to think this hysteria has had its time now, it's getting really dull. Maybe this picture will help them identify their problems and move on...

Players going to the board to raise their concerns is not the issue for me. For all we know feedback may have happened often or it could all have been made up as it isn't exactly beyond belief given what we've witnessed this season. The total lack of effort or interest by certain players is how blame should be allocated. I couldn't give a shit if Vardy or whoever did or did not go to the owners, he (and others) played a much bigger part in Claudio leaving than a few words of criticism.

It's not on YouTube from what I can tell. Not searchable anyway. I sourced it elsewhere and uploaded it:

Thanks Spenno..I've been trying to find it.

It really is one of the weirdest moments....one of the most important goals in the club's history and the bench - the bloody PLAYERS - don't even raise a smile??!?! NOTHING should provoke that sort of non-reaction by representatives of this club...

Well done Maws! One of the most commonsensical posts you have ever done.

Excellent article by Jonathan Norcroft in The Times. Unfortunately behind the subscription wall but you can sign up for three free articles a day (like I have) to be able to read it.

It's really encouraging that the true football journalists in articles from the likes of the Telegraph, Guardian, Times and the Mirror have all written about how Ranieri just had to go at this time for the sake of the club, despite his acknowledged and well deserved success last year.

This is obviously not the celebration of the goal. It's in the aftermath when Claudio is trying to fire up the players running back to their own half. No chance that the bench would respond in such completely apathy to an important goal.

EDIT:

My other theory was that it was in response to their 2-0 goal as Musa looks like he had just come off. I couldn't find any video evidence of that though.

Coincidentally, I was about to post the same thing. I skimmed the posts this morning then took the dog for a walk. I realised that I've nothing else to say on this subject. I'm looking forward to the Liverpool game and hopefully the start of something new.

The king is dead, long live the king.
That is exactly how I feel.
