I’m not saying KP out. We are very lucky to have them. But something has changed in recent years and it’s for the worse.
We *were* very lucky to have them.

But we’ve become a complete laughing stock in recent years. Vichai would be spinning in his grave if he could see how much of an almighty **** up Top is making of this.

Agreed. But did there need to be 200 people on the pitch?
No, but unfortunately that’s the “way” nowadays.

We did it different and classy (take the celebration at the Everton game for example) but unfortunately this has slipped badly.

The club need to engage better where it is able.

Probably not. Do we know the reasons why they were there. Someone mentioned they were ‘influencers’. I bloody loathe the concept, but if they want to build a brand they need others to shove it down the throat of their target audience. The target audience for growth isn’t the market you already monopolise.

That they were on the pitch didn’t affect very much for me I have to say. Liberace could’ve done a lap of honour and it wouldn’t have made a lot of difference to me. I went to say thank you to Vardy and see the trophy raised. I saw that.

Have we? We got relegated and then promoted. We had 5 top ten finishes after he died winning an FA cup along the way. Most clubs would dine out on that level of embarrassment.

Definitely, how else can you make a brand out of a football club that’s won both the premier league against all odds and the FA cup in the last ten years without Instatwats?

I don’t remotely condone the instatwats. Anyone with that level of self importance I have no time for.

What do people want to have communicated to them?

There won’t be a public announcement on financial decisions. The club won’t say we need the money because admission is newsworthy and damaging. It requires some degree of reading between the lines.

The way we want to play is evident. I don’t think people need telling we want to be Man City lite

We won’t communicate things like transfer targets because that is brainless and drives up prices.

The club aren’t going to come out and discuss finances, choice of sponsor or pricing. We know the reason. We have to generate more income. They aren’t going to publicly say that. It’s newsworthy and damaging.

Beyond this, what do people want to have communicated?
Do you think the relationship between the club and its fans is healthy?

We also won the Premier League once. That wasn’t recent either.

It's normal.

I, like SF, don't really understand what people want. You are not going to be kept abreast of every decision the club make and neither should you be. I'm a Tesco Clubcard holder but I don't expect the notes of their AGM every year to be sent to me.

When you make comparisons between our club and others, we're no worse and considerably better in terms of fan engagement than many. Take Sheffield Wednesday banning any fans who turn up wearing a non official shirt for instance. It's stunningly ****ing idiotic. Like any big business, KP are crap at many things but the constant rhetoric about how dreadfully shit they are and how we'd somehow be better off being owned by a penniless nice guy, plying our trade in League 2 is wibble.

Oh they wouldn’t. You just asked what people want to have communicated.
Of course they wouldn’t.

You work for widgets limited. Widgets limited have a bad year. The board investigate it. The board do not then publish the findings or point fingers blaming individuals. They don’t do that because they don’t want a raft of constructive dismissal claims (or in the case of employees who have been let go, breach of contract claims for publication of disparaging statements. A mutual provision is inevitably contained within a settlement agreement signed at the point of termination preventing publication of such things).

They have pretty much told us what went wrong. We know. We’re not daft. We bet on Rodgers and gave him eye watering money to spend. It went wrong.

I really don’t understand why fans feel that they need a dossier on this.

...disregard for the fans to whom the club actually belongs.
This, right here, is the root of the problem.

That's OUR interpretation of the relationship. A fan's perspective. Rooted in the fact that most of us are of an age that means we grew up in a very different era of football (& everything else really)

It's a 20th century view of the role a football club plays in our lives, our community &, to be romantic for a second, our hearts.

That century is deader than the dodo. We live in a different reality now.
LCFC is wholly owned, lock stock & barrel, by a family of foreign billionaires. We have that in common with many other clubs.
If you were to say to anyone at King Power that the club actually "belongs" to us they'd just point at their name on the side of the building & look at you as if you just landed in a spaceship from the outer worlds.

They paid cash. They own it. That's that.

Those are the only facts that they'll entertain. The idea of us having some sort of spiritual connection to the club that has been our passion for most of our lives, outlasting relationships, jobs & careers & even families in some cases, is not on their radar & never will be.

We are CUSTOMERS.

They call us fans because they know thats what we like to be called. But we're customers to them & thats all we are or ever will be. I've met people with extreme wealth & trust me, they are NOT entirely human. Thats how they got to be that ****ing rich in the first place.
They need to employ legions of PR people & image consultants simply to make them look human to the wider world. & armies of lawyers to protect them from the consequences of their disregard for anything other than making even more money.

We are a bunch of worthless plebs as far as they're concerned. Expecting to be treated as such is where our heads need to be if we want to understand what goes on. & I'm afraid it isn't going to change. Not unless we go bankrupt & end up like Portsmouth & Wigan did.
Then we can have a nice club with cheap entry & no waiting list for season tickets. Just like when we were in L1 & at the arse end of the Championship for a decade.
We sold our soul, just like the rest of the game did. This is our reality now & all we can do is live with it. It's never going back.

Bear in mind also the club has been engaged in legal proceedings relating to finances. They can’t for a moment think their main argument will fly, but I suspect they did what they did to delay sanctions and get us out of the football league. It would’ve been madness to publish anything that could be used against us in evidence.

As the saying goes, dance like no one is watching, but email, text, post and publish like it will be read in court one day.

What about this then @SilverFox - what do you think the club's current 5 year strategy is? We knew what it was when KP took over because Vichai told us he wanted to be playing Champions League football in 5/6 years (and we laughed) - but it set a direction for the club and we could build towards it.

Can I also request that you point me to some references, because as far as I'm aware, they don't exist. Our only plan/hope at the moment is to survive this season and not slip into the points deduction based oblivion that awaits in the championship.
