Other than the tactical plan (aka ze system) this sounds like it could have been written about last season tbf. We did alright then so hopefully a system magically appears in the coming weeks.

I agree to an extent (although he wasn't already trotting out excuses before a ball had been kicked), but at least there looked to be a plan to work to and that's what we built on.

I'm more than prepared for a tough season and I think Cooper has got an incredibly difficult job on his hands. I hope he does really well of course, but he just seems to be struggling with how to set us up. I would have thought it should have been a transition if he wanted us to change our system but instead, we seem to have thrown away every part of what we were doing well last season and replaced it with chaos.

I guess the proof of the pudding will be what we see against Spurs. I'm hoping that our woeful performances in preseason are as a result of failed experiments that have now been exorcised rather than as a result of the way Cooper thinks we should play.

Yeah I'd have expected him to pretend we're a smashing bunch of lads and capable of staying up for a bit longer than he has.

But also if he said words to the effect of, ‘that’s one the club have identified’ it is suggestive he has had a say in others isn’t it. It’s a very different statement to something like, ‘I don’t have a say in the transfer policy of the club’.

Maybe Cooper doesn't understand our system from last year.
Maybe he does think it would keep us up.
Maybe he doesn't think we have the players for it in the prem.
Maybe Cooper thinks he should play the style of football that he knows and thinks will be successful.

Not sure. But he needs to at least have a style. At the moment it's nothing.

He’s not a mug. He’ll have watched all the games from last season and decided, as have I, that we would get murdered each week playing like that without the best players in the league. So he’s trying to come up with a different system that he thinks will work, and I applaud him for that. It will however take some time for him to settle on one.

My concern is all those who have already decided he’s a duffer, without having even played a league game, will get on his and the teams back very early on.
 
If I can remember Forest fans claimed Cooper instilled a run through brick walls mentality in his players, but I could have imagined that.
I cannot imagine that he is on a huge salary so he cannot just ‘not give a toss’ with 12+million in the bank.
He apparently displays ‘pashun’ at pitchside, but I doubt that that will have a significant effect on player performances.
I am basically banking on the conspiracy theory of us in pre-season fooling Spurs into thinking we are crap, before we go and rob them on the fast breaks and strong press.

I think most fans will be pointing their ire at the club hierarchy. And rightly so.

That makes no sense. You come up with a different system by making small changes. You don't tear up the playbook and put nothing in it's place. In the pre-season games we have seen so far there has been absolutely no definable way of playing. You'd have expected the last two friendlies to be a reflection of what we intend to do next Monday but they were just totally disjointed and lacked any kind of shape.

Even if, arbitrarily, he's decided that the system we had wouldn't work, he should at least have decided what to put in it's place by now instead of scratching around putting square pegs in round holes.

I'm not wholly against his appointment. He wouldn't have been my choice but I didn't think it was a particularly bad call. I'm still hopeful that he will be okay but so far, it's remarkable how bad we've looked. Pre-season or not, our performances have been atrocious and it's so obvious that some of our players haven't got a clue what their role is supposed to be.

Like I say, we shall see what the season brings and Cooper has a horribly difficult job to do. He needs to find a shape and a system very, very quickly.

They won't because the vast majority are complete mongs who would let King Power do absolutely anything without as much as a murmur.

Many have been warning of what is currently happening and we're abused both verbally and physically by the brainwashed weirdos.
