I don't get why so many people are critcising King... thought he did ok... not brilliant, bit anonymous, but what he did was fine.

Thought he played better than Oakley, who seemed to be hitting wayward passes and giving the ball away most of the night.

I thought Fryatt and Waghorn showed signs that they could form a decent partnership. Would like to see Gallagher have a go upfront with Fryatt though... thought he chased everything tonight, really put the effort in... first half in particular.

Not a good performance... in fact a pretty bad performance, but we won, so who cares?

Oh, and I thought Brown was solid and reliable in the air... but as soon as it's on the ground he's not so assured!

Was impressed by Weale.

I thought we lacked a midfield tonight as Reading kept coming at us in waves - Wellens needed a stronger head next to him, a player who like him can break up play and not stand off all the time.

i felt comfortable we would win that , they were bad , thought Brown was brilliant , also thought Neilson did ok, McGivern looked a bit suspect , NP still has to find the right midfield balance, i thought Wellens was average as King Gally Oakley poor
In summary for Reading its not about the result but the performance, for us not about the performance but the result, im confifent of a better performance on friday, we will need one!

Would have been a different story if they actually had a striker who could get a shot on target.

Very lucky to get all 3 points tonight, Reading were atrocious at finishing but the carved us open at times. We seemed to try and play the off side trap tonight...very ineffectively

I thought McGivern was in Kebe's pocket when he came on and I thought Berner should have replaced him rather than swapping the front 2. Berner when coming on for Gallagher looked good and when we were breaking forward in the final 10 minutes.

In the last 15 minutes they didn't pose too much of a threat and we looked the more likely to score but nevertheless I was still biting my finger nails.

Up until the goal I thought Waghorn had a very poor match. He didn't look like he could take anyone on. I felt a bit sorry for DJ when he came on, got called offside a few times but 2 of those decisions were very close indeed. Howard played well when he came on and was unlucky not to net one.

A very lucky 3 points overall and a lot of improvement needed for Friday's match otherwise I can see us conceding a few.

Wasn't Weale good when they did?

He was our best player by a country mile. Won't be enought against a better side though, he's not super human.

What a ****ing shambolic performance.

Why NP did not take action to take the left back off who was obviously 100% ****ed is beyond me, it very nearly cost us 2 points and NP would be to blame totally.

Why we play people out of position just for the sake of giving them a game is beyond me, King was an absolute disgrace, I think the only reason he was never taken off is because Nigel never even realised he was on the ****ing pitch, what a waste of a place.

It is clear that Oakley is totally wasted in the role he played tonight, we need to stop playing King for the sake of it and move Oakley into the middle of the park where he should be, and at the same time giving a naturally right sided midfielder a chance; Adam's must have shagged NP's Mrs.

Bringing Bruno on for Gally was just crazy when it was clear Ryan was blowing like Roy Cropper after the charity run, madness.

I stand by my point in the other thread that Nigel Pearson cannot select the right 11 and has failed to do so in every game so far, I cannot however take away the massive achievments so far, and it is these achievments that will make the majority of posters on here slag this post off and dismiss the majority of the points I make, It will take someone like QPR taking advantage of Wayne Brown's inability to close a player down for some people to realise that some big problems do dwell in our ranks.

I do think we have one of the strongest sub's benches in the league and this is partly the reason we are actually doing as well as we are, long may that continue, although it would be nice the have the best starting 11 in the first place.

Leicester City, the biggest 1 half team in the league?

If we have shambolic performance like that every week and win i don't care. What do you want? We're not Man U or Arsenal. its not going to be pretty every week.
I agree about McGivern. He was given the run around all night.

I'm struggling to understand a lot of what your trying to say? Are you suggesting NP picks certain players out of kindness. "for the sake of it" - what??! "Just to give them a game" - What?? complete madness. :102:

Well done though NP, We're in the playoff places but you've picked a shit starting 11 every game and played players for the sake of it.

I think we are all over the moon with the points achieved by the team this season, however we have more than rode our luck a lot - and some posters will be more worried about that than others.
I enjoyed the result tonight, but not our performance. QPR are scoring goals for fun and we will need to be a lot better than that on Friday to not be made to look a bit silly.

Whilst I think NP and the whole team are excelling, there were massive question marks against tonight's performance. We have no width, a midfield very reliant on Wellens IMO and a top scorer who is losing confidence by the match as he squanders chances more than he should.

Long may our luck continue, but it won't if we continue to play like that.

The point is we won't will we, They have the worse home record in the league, scored 2 goals and are generally inept, they still made us look shabby at the back.

So what exactly are the reasons for insisting on playing King and especially Gally (out of possition and instead of other more natural wingers) ???? What has Adams done???? If NP think's King is better than Oakley in the middle then fair enough, but why is he still insisting on playing Oakley completley out of possition?

It would have been ok, though not very entertaining, if we closed them down in an ugly 1-0 win with few chances. The thing now was that they had probably five or six clear cut chances and a better team with some confidence would have buried at least a couple of them.

We didn't win thanks to great defensive play but to Reading's inability to score (and, admittedly, a few great saves by Weale).

It was poor and boring for the neutrals but who cares it was 3 points again and there is no way this team is going down

Lako, i know your very outspoken, but surely this is far too negative a post considering we won the game.

What a ****ing shambolic performance

This would be an acceptable statement 3 years ago, under Holloway mabye but we need to stay positive, we wernt the better side tonight, but we got the job done.

Im not slagging your post off, and i agree that QPR will be a nightmare unless we improove. They are scoring for fun at the momet.

Lets stay upbeat !

Well that was the most undeserved victory I have seen in a long time, yet we should have scored more goals. Thank god Reading couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo - if we play similarly against QPR we will be on the wrong end of a hammering.

McGivernaway was woeful, I still can't work out why Berner was originally 'rested' as he has been one of the better players this season (definitely in the games I've seen anyway) - Berner to definitely start against QPR. King was rubbish yet again - I hope NP puts Oakley back in the middle and gives N'Guessan another go on the Right Wing.

I don't think the Fryatt/Waghorn partnership worked, I would start the QPR game with Howard and Waghorn. How the hell Fryatt missed two easy one-on-ones I will never know. That's one thing I like about Pearson, we're winning yet he realises the front line isn't right so puts two strikers on.

Waghorn holds the ball up very well and does this on the ground so we get we don't need the big hoof Mr Brown
