...You missed my point, he should never be just off side as he is fast enough to be further behind the line of the last defender when the ball is played...
I'm sorry i disagree.
As I mentioned during the game, Dave Jones had paper and pen in hand. I imagine his notes look like this.....
1. Put someone on the back post at corners.
2.
I doubt DJ left the bar for the second half. If you come a calling in December with a weak right side (or left for that matter) it will be a long afternoon chasing shadows. You missed out
2. If McGivern is playing get the ball out to the right as much as possible.
3. If Oakley is playing right midfield he ends up playing in the middle leaving the right side open.
4. Andy King is a stealth like player sometimes you dont even know he is playing until he has a shot in the 85th minute.
Let me get this right...... you are saying you would rather watch us play fancy football and lose!!!!!!!
You must be mad!
Unfotunately you seem to have mised the point of how DJ and several other strikes play the game. They sit on the last defenders shoulder and then try and make a run in behind, if they played in front of the defender they wouldnt get in behind the defence.
Players such as M. Owen (used to be), A. Johnson, F. Torres, R. Van Persie, etc are all "fast enough" not to have to be on the shoulder of the defender but that is how they play and all of them will get caught offside as much as DJ.
Last night DJ was offside 3 times and two of those decision could have gone the other way.

Surely not physically possible, plus they occasionally score.
...But they didn't, so the moral of the story goes ''if caught offside lots, stand 1 yard further back, then look along line before setting off''...
Did anyone else notice the amount of Manager's their was in the Stadium yesterday? A Real day.
I can see what NP is doing, trying a few different formations, to see what works and what dont.
Unfortunately, no one formation is picking itself at present.
If King and McGivern start Friday, then the rumor that NP, AK and RM are meeting after training at an undisclosed location for an afternoon bumfest will gather pace.
Can i come?
I dont know. Can you :icon_wink
