You do have to wonder what the Bruma loan has done. I've heard people speculate that the more we play Bruma the less we pay for him. Or even that there is a contractual obligation for us to play him.

If either is the case I can understand (to an extent anyway) why we haven't been great since his arrival. It wouldn't do my morale an awful lot of good knowing that I had to work hard in training for a starting place and yet this lad will be playing regardless.

Of course it could just be coincidence. I tend to agree with the recent article which made the point that Derby showed the rest of the league how to play against us in the second half at Pride Park. We need to be tougher. Sven knows this. Whether he is capable of making it happen is another matter entirely. We'll find out next season.

A fair point. I don't think he'll be sacked but a manager with his reputation will always attract interest. If he isn't here no doubt the owners will make another approach for O'Neill. And he might just accept this time, having seen that the owners are willing to provide funds and freedom to the man in charge. He does like to be King of the Castle. I'd rather Eriksson stayed than that scenario play out if I'm honest, but there are plenty who'd disagree.

It's true. Sven confirmed that this is the crack for Chelsea loanees.

In the Q&A Sven was asked why he played 4-3-3 when throughout his career he has played 4-4-2. His answer was that we were not physically strong enough for 4-4-2. I do not personally favour one system over another but I got the impression that the lack of physical strength was something Sven very much wished he could change. This may well be a priority during the close season.

Fosseboy is correct on one thing - Sven is not above criticism. Perhaps he would point out who suggested he was. If someone criticises Sven or anyone else others are equally entitled to defend him.

There is of course a big difference between criticising a manager and suggesting that (yet again) the manager should be changed.

I haven't gone through all the replies in this thread but I watched the game live and actually thought that bar from the lapse in defending (the goals) we actually played alright. reading only had 3 shots in the first half from what I can remember. Of course they had more in the second half as we continued to press, the one thing that was very frustrating was our reluctance to shoot.

We had 6 on target (reading had 4) and 6 off target (Reading had 5).

The target compared to the size of the goalkeeper stacks the odds firmly in the favour of the attacking player.

Nottingham Fox has more chance of making it at Chelsea than Bruma.
