****ing ridiculous - twice in 5 days and no football on two consecutive Saturday afternnons.

Sky is doing more damage to this game than people are prepared to understand.
Don't get me started.....

I think it may be possible to get back via London with the later train, but still it means folk have to use holidays to finish work early to get to these games, and then they wont get get back until the small hours of the following morning.
Or pray that their timetables are kind to them....

Ever thought that the fact that people pay subscription money to Sky is part of the problem?
Precisely why we binned off Sky. I know our money won't be missed in the big scheme of things, but if more people make a stand, who knows? :102:

It's a futile effort, isn't it. :(

im not being funny but those of you who are 'relying' on public transport couldnt you drive there instead??

Well done to you - and no, I don't think it is futile. One day the bubble will burst - and football and its supporters need to think about where they will be then.

Not everyone can drive, and if they can they might not have a car, might want to have a drink, might prefer not to drive, might not be able to afford to drive etc...
Moving a match from a Saturday to a week night inconveniences a lot of people, for lots of different reasons, transport is just one of the reasons.

well for those 2 reason they cant be that bothered about going if they prefer a drink or dont really want to drive - but i take your point on the other points mentioned :)

Finishing work in Leicester at 5 and driving down to Reading in time for an 8 o'clock kick-off is no mean feat either. And all that to get back to Leicester in the early hours with not long to go before getting up for work on Tuesday. Sky is the enemy of all those who actually want to go to the match and should be seen in no other way.

how far is leicester to reading

125 miles, 2hr 15min, according to the AA Route planner. But I dare say that they didn't set off in the height of the rush hour and then have to find parking for the match at Reading.

Are you seriously suggesting that driving after work is a realistic proposition?

Reading is a nightmare with car - I remember when we won 3-0 their, I almost missed most of the 1st half due to it taking an hour to get from the motorway junction, to the car park at the ground - which is about 500 yards!

Never mind the fact that it is based on the assumption they are going from Leicester, for me to go from Cov might take longer, and Jeff from Carlisle definately would.

maybe some might be able to leave work a bit earlier??

Yes, and this was my point several posts ago.

People will have to use holidays, or borrow time from work if they want to go. Sky could have chosen any other team bar us and QPR for that Monday slot.
