Out of interest, I'm going to Amsterdam for my 21st later this year, is there much going on beer-wise over there?

Di Konick (or something like that) - a beautiful drop, pretty much an ale. Not many places have it, but one particular bar served nothing but that and was surrounded by eastern European prostitutes. Good times!

I was in Ilfracombe over the weekend and found a decent pub doing some good food, (Cook Island) but unfortunately the Tribute was off, then the Dartmoor decided to turn vinegary which left the Bateman's Summer Swallow, which, despite its very pale colour was actually a pleasant little brew.

Had a few pints of Bass yesterday. Not tried one since the 80s. Quite nice too.
Mate had some Doom Bars which he seemed pleased with. He drinks cider and lager regularly though so not much of a judge.

Delighted, my local pub has started offering 2-3 gguest beers, recently we have had the following - Doombar, Adnams, Black Sheep, Tribute, Hobgoblin, and spitfire.

Might take a walk over the fields to sample an Adnams tonight.

The pub is the Rag & Mop (Man Within Compass) in Whitwick by the way.

I absolutely love Black Sheep, my local from time to time has it on, though it doesn't last long as I guzzle most of it.

Skipping the 'glamour' friendly to go to a beer festival in northants, should be some decent beer and can't say I'll miss he match experience.

Sampling a couple of bottles I brought back from my trek round the Scottish isles. Im on the isle of Arran brewerys sunset first. Lovely stuff! Doubt I could get a bottle round here!

Coop in Whetstone have a selection of Oakham Ales in. Although I don't like paying £2 for a bottle if inferno when I can get a pint in Slug & Lettuce for £2.25.
