I'm sure the people who wuld like to see RK leave the club are a tiny minority.

I think its highly possible that Mandy would bring in a person above him, call the position what you will, he did this at Pompey and Rednapp has been there, t shirt and all. It did'nt work but it shows his thinking.

Don't see it as a bad thing may be the way of keeping RK..having your cake and eating it

RK has to stay, he's done a great job with no cash. All we need is a couple of quality signings and I think we can push on into the top 6. :icon_razz

Hope MM gets to view these coments.. 90ish %cant be wrong!!, hopefully he has learned from his early Pompey mistakes. ie Perrin.

ive voted for stay if MM does come and we spend money and fails to get us into a decent position then yes he will have to go, but at this moment in time he has done a great job had some highs and lows already this season..

but its not that long ago when we lost few games and poor performances etc and some people on here wanted changes

I don't think any fan would happily wish to see RK sacked, especially when you consider how well he has done since his appointment, however this investment / takeover will change the profile and aspirations of this club overnight.

Is Kelly experienced enough and a big enough personality to cope with the added expectation and responsibility.

More importantly is somebody who is willing to invest such a sizeable chunk of their personal fortune prepared to give a relative unknown the opportunity ??

All that - and the most important aspect of football management is exercising the right judgement about which players to bring in and ship out. RK is doing better than I thought he would with mediocre playing resources, but there is no evidence one way or the other about his ability to use significant resources.

I think a 'Director of Football' is a waste of space appointment.....so it looks to me that if the club is saved from limbo by MM then its a new manager. Sentiment and perhaps commonsense would say keep RK as a first team coach or assistant manager...but we all know that football isn't always like that.

David Pleat - Manager
Big Ron - Assistant
Barry Fry - Director of football

Sorted!!!

I feel that Kelly will not be in the same role in the next 3-6ish months. I do hope he stays at the Club however even if it is only in the same role that he had under CL but with a higher-profile and obviously better Manager. ;)

Worst feckin thread EVER

people had been speculating on various other threads about what would/should happen to kelly in the event of a takeover so i thought itd be a good idea to have a thread about it and give people a chance to state explicitly what they thought should happen. if you think its a crap thread then dont read it.

Melton best summed it up in this post. ;)

Well Graham Rix was hardly a big name when he got made Portmouth manager, neither was Perrin. In fact he got Perrin because he had good results with no money to spend at a tiny french team.

Zajec was a disaster......:icon_eek:

I've said this loads of times on here, I can't stand the concept.

Keep RK, it will save us some cash and will avoid unnecessary upheaval at a time of change in the club.
