can they legally make a bid outside of the transfer window?

Kris Boyd

Anybody who the championship side is that is supposed to have signed him?

Yes, you can agree to sign players outside the transfer window, he just won't join until the 1st January.

On Sky they've just been saying it's an "unnamed Championship club"... from Steven's rumour, I assumed it was. I really hope we are trying to get in there, as surely we would be a better option than Sheffield Wednesday?

All depends on wage demands. Not that sure we are that much of a better prospect to be honest.

its a sorry state of affairs if we are not. However could be another Tyson and want to be a big fish in a small pond. He had the choice of a couple of Championship clubs before choosing fo**st. Koumas has done a similar thing a couple of times.

Levein will be well aware of him. I'd think we could afford the wage demands and fee if we have deals lined up for a few of our out of favour players.

But on present form, and league position we are a hardly an attractive proposition at least Wednesday have the excuse of being recently promoted and are therefore a club on the up, we appear to be a club on a downward slide, to be honest I think he will end up at either Rangers or possibly somebody in the top eight of the championship, my money would be on Sheff Utd or Preston.

I think it has been said on here that Wolves may be interested, that would certainly be a better option than us. Still think we are a better proposition than Sheff Weds.

Wednesday offered 750k for Tyson, I imagine they're offering about the same amount for Boyd. Do we have that much money to spend in January? I doubt it. Is Levein actually interested in Boyd? If he was desperate to get him surely he'd have made a move in the summer...

Fair points, although I think we're going to see a few out the door in January to fund any players, whereas Sturrock has money to spend now, therefore can make earlier moves.

Our league position may not be attractive, but Boyd may think that he will be the one who can shoot us up the league table, he will almost be an instant first choice if he does join. At Wolves, he has to compete with Cort/Miller/Ganea/Ndah/Clarke.

Weren't we linked with him on numerous occasions last summer?

Apparently we've had Joey's 14 year old brother over here doing some training as well...

I have no doubt Joey has passion for the club, and that in my mind he should be given a new contract. However it's a complicated situation as he'd probably have to have reduced terms compared to what he's on now, so that couldn't really be discussed until the end of the season. Add to that the fact that Weso is coming back, Kisnorbo is a favourite and we need to get rid of some players and I could see Levein deciding not to keep him on and citing 'financial reasons'. :(

If someone offers 1.5 for him in January he'll go, but there is no chance of any team doing that unless he scores 10 goals in his next 5 games or something and the team are desperate.

Birmingham are desperate.
Arsenal need a new midfielder with leadershipn qualities, and someone that has experience but not someone 30+. or am i being dilusional?

Your beginning to sound like a commentator on Radio Leicester.
Jon 'I love Dublin' Barker etc.

Here's not a rumour - an ex leicester chairman was not very happy with the performance on saturday and is not pleased with the manager to say the least.
