From the pandering Merc article:
"The price structure has been drawn up after a consultation with supporters and supporters groups which began in November"

Cheers for that, FT. Another victory........

The club discussed prices with a number of "focus" groups in Nov onwards (not involving the supporters groups)

We gave feedback at the Fans Consultative Committee in January where we advised no more than a £1 per game increase

However we also have consistently advised the club to:
a) Give the next generation of fans the priority price wise (i.e Family Stand price freeze)
b) To drop direct debit & credit card charges

Susan Whelan has said they have looked at the figures and only 200 people would be affected by the withdrawl of the student tickets

I didn't even realise they did student tickets. I actually don't have a problem with being charged for an under 22s ticket- I think students get far too many discounts when many have a lot more disposable income than a lot of working-class families. (not meant as a class recognition but more income)

We spoke to Susan tonight to double check what she said during the Radio interview.

200 student tickets sold last year of which 90% would still be U22 this year, hence doing the maths, 20 would now be at the full adult price

We also spoke to Jim who deals with the fanzone & the majority of complaints so far are coming from students U22, who under previous student rates got the U18 prices. In most areas the U22 price is around double the U18 price

I am in favour of getting rid of the student prices - this is not me being anti-student since I support them over student fees. However, I see no reason why a student should get a better deal than a youngster working on a low wage as almost all youngsters who leave education are. To make it the same for all under 22 whether student or employee seems to me right in principle.

Ideally I would have liked all under 22s to have the same price that used to be available to students. What I am against is a price increase so high it will mean young people can no longer afford to go.

Given that I'm no longer Under 22 next season, I am seriously considering giving my ST up. Not sure it'll be worth the price increase for me, especially if it's anything like last season.

Might just go to the odd game instead, can borrow my dad's ST for the first few games anyway, as he's going to be away. Just doesn't seem worth it at this point in time with the quality being served up though, don't care that makes me a fairweather fan who doesn't stick through them through thick and thin or whatever.

I still manage to get U22 tickets even though I'm now 28, I've booked them online, paid on the gate and it's never been questioned.

She seems to be trying to suggest that only the 10% of students will be affected by the change where the fact is that every one of them will be.

What is the point in trying to attract young families to get the kids interested if you are just going to **** them off when they are students or earning a low (average) wage?

The club have made some grave errors, disenfrancising the late teens to mid 20's age group means they lose atmosphere, revenue and potential future families. Relying on dragging in young families will never cover the loss of this age group but SW and the owners don't seem to realise this, there is no point in hooking kids if you are going to lose them when they start to be a profit stream.

SK4. Two adult ST's last year cost me £662. This year it will be £780.

8% my arse!

Last year SK3 cost me £368. This year £399 but no DD fee so I'm reasonably happy.

The girl who got fired on The Apprentice last night probably thought up the Ticket pricing at City :-)

Would you make her leave the pizza outfit on? :icon_wink

Cliff Ginnetta seems happy and feels us fans need to put our hand in our pockets more to back up the Owners

Cliff Ginnetta, chairman of the Official Supporters Club, said the supporters needed to pay their share to match the investment of the owners.

"I am pleased that there is no increase in the family section and also that there are no charges to be incurred if you pay by direct debit," he said. "I am a little surprised that there is an increase of 15 per cent for the dearer-priced seats, although it is only around eight per cent for the rest of the ground.

"I am sure, as always, that the fans will rally around and find the money. Generally, it needs to be a sustainable business and we all have to put our share in as we cannot really expect the owners to keep putting in millions without some back-up from the fans."

Great representatives we've got there

Sure I heard the FT on the radio the other day simply saying that fans could always move seats to a cheaper part of the ground

Thanks for that

I ****ing hate Ginetta. So, we should pay extra to fund lavish spending that we never asked for, which the owners are already charging us 8% interest on?

Seriously, is there any way for the club to stop its owners lending it money and charging interest? Because it just seems like a license to print money to me? It's like your mate saying "I've bought you this PS3 for £300, I know you didn't ask for it, but can you pay me back £324 next week please?"
